Team Rampage on Liddell vs Silva
As December 29th’s long-awaited showdown between Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva, fans and pundits alike are looking at the matchup and breaking it down in every way possible, trying to find the single nugget of information that will illuminate everything and produce a clear favorite. Well, it’s not there, and that’s what makes this not only a meeting between perhaps the two best 205-pound fighters in mixed martial arts history, but an intriguing bout between two fighters whose current standing in the game may not be the same as it was a few years back, but who still have the power and mystique to provoke heated debates. Even a man who has been in the Octagon or ring with Liddell and Silva a combined four times – UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson – is stumped when it comes to picking a winner.

UFC 82: Evan Tanner to fight in Columbus, Ohio
MMAmania.com (www.mmamania.com) recently learned that former middleweight champion Evan Tanner (32-6) will return to the Octagon at UFC 82 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Nationwide Arena on March 2. No opponent has been named. Tanner — who will be 37 years old on fight night — has not competed since a submission win (triangle choke) over Justin Levens at UFC 59: “Reality Check” in April 2006. He recently signed a four-fight contract extension to return to action and provide some much-needed depth and experience to a relatively talent-shallow 185-pound division.

Joe Lauzon Interview
Excerpt: Adam Morgan: Yeah, I saw you had some pictures posted up on The Underground Forum where it said you were at roughly 185 about 48 hours out from the fight. Is that true? Joe Lauzon: That was a big joke. My brother and my roommate Brandon were in the hotel lobby and they heard Reinhardt was getting a little scared, you know, “Joe’s running around at 185! He’s so big!” and all this other stuff. So they started talking like “Oh, I can’t believe Joe’s 185. It’ll be a tough cut but he’ll make it.” So we just sort of ran with it to play on his paranoia a little bit. Too funny
