UFC owners: Ultimate Cash Machines
(mmamania.com)
There’s a rather revealing article on Forbes.com that delves into the history of Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta — majority owners of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) — and their rise to the top of the mixed martial arts circuit.

- FRANKLIN MOVES PAST SILVA; FOCUSED ON LUTTER
(mmaweekly.com)
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight titleholder Rich “Ace” Franklin will look to get back to his winning ways this Saturday night when he takes on Travis Lutter. Both fighters are looking to find their way back to the top of the 185-pound weight class. Franklin has been a mainstay in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio for many years, working with coaches like Jorge Gurgel and Neal Rowe, but for the fight with Lutter, the former champion has moved his camp to the Northwest and started training with Matt Hume. In a recent interview with MMAWeekly Radio, Franklin divulged that after working with Hume for a short time prior to his second fight with Anderson Silva, he decided to split his camp between Cincinnati and working in Seattle with Hume. He believes the change will do nothing but positives for his overall game.

Revenge or Redemption Awaits at UFC 83
(sherdog.com)
As it turns out, "South Park" was wrong all along and Canada is actually good for something besides mediocre NBA franchises. Namely, hosting big-time MMA cards delivered by the UFC. This time around we've got Matt Serra (Pictures) and Georges St. Pierre (Pictures) looking to establish who exactly is the world's preeminent welterweight as well as a trio of middleweight dust-ups, the official UFC baptism of an "Ultimate Fighter" champion and an undercard that'll have every fan praying for some quick finishes.

Fertittas bought Japanese martial arts business to kill it
(lvbusinesspress.com)
It was touted to be a mixed martial arts merger like that of the National Football League and American Football League. Japan-based Pride fighting was brought under the same ownership as the Ultimate Fighting Championship a year ago, which was supposed to lead to uniform rules and a big step in the evolution of a fledgling sport. But what was dubbed by some as the pending "Super Bowl of Mixed Martial Arts" never happened. Now the biggest matchup appears to be scheduled for a federal courtroom. Not being funny, but they bought so they can do what they please with it. As much as I might think them mad for breaking up the company when they could have turned it into UFC Japan or something and missing a great opportunity. At the end of the day it's their money.

Week one, the world watched me, Mike Dolce, knock Prince McLean out in the very first round of the very first fight on Spike TV’s seventh installment of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Week two, my fellow cast member, Matthew Riddle, started the night off with another BANG by breaking Dan Simmler’s jaw in the opening moments of round two in their “Elimination Bout.”

Nothing Personal, Doerksen Just Wants Revenge
(sherdog.com)
It's not often that the fight game is more forgiving than the rest of life. When it comes to rematches, though, it sometimes is. Fighters occasionally get a chance that the rest of us dream about at some point in our lives -- to make up for something that happened in the past. Winnipeg, Canada's Joe Doerksen will get such a chance Saturday at the UFC's first event in Canada. He'll try to avenge a 2005 loss to Jason MacDonald when they meet in a middleweight bout at Montreal's Bell Centre. Should be a good fight. I always like watching MacDonald fight. Rejuvenated McCarthy looks to choke out Bisping at UFC 83
(cbs.sportsline.com)
We haven't seen Charles McCarthy perform inside the Octagon since Nov. 11, 2006. On that night, McCarthy fought through the pain of a severe knee injury -- which turned out to be complete tears of the ACL, LCL and meniscus -- to submit Gideon Ray with an armbar at the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 4.

Serra not afraid to play villain’s role
(mmajunkie.com)
UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra knows he isn't going to be the fan favorite when he steps into the octagon at Bell Centre in Montreal in front of the expected largest crowd in North American mixed martial arts history on Saturday night. "I'm having my trainers and sparring partners boo me on a regular basis, so I'm getting used to it," said Serra, who defends the title against hometown hero Georges St. Pierre. "It's the same cage, it doesn't matter the city."

St. Pierre, "I Will Win Or I Will Go To The Hospital"
(mmaweekly.com)
When Georges St. Pierre travels to the Bell Centre in Montreal on April 19 to battle Matt Serra for the UFC welterweight title, he won’t have to venture far, as the fight is taking place in his hometown. He won’t have to look very far for his most adamant supporters; they will surely be in attendance. He won’t have to dig very deep for the motivation to fight the man who beat him for the title almost exactly one year ago. He will now battle for his shot at redemption and a second reign as the 170-pound king of the MMA world. With the rematch between Georges St. Pierre and Matt Serra just days away, the current interim welterweight champion, who stated he will not bring the belt with him to the fight with Serra, is focused on the task at hand and excited about fighting for the title in front of his hometown fans. “It pumped me up so much, I can’t believe it,” St. Pierre said about the fight taking place in Montreal. “It’s a dream come true. It’s a great opportunity for me to shine in front of my people by winning the world title, and that’s the guy I’ve wanted to fight for a long time, too, because he beat me. I can’t wait, it’s going to be fun.” Working with St. Pierre for this fight are a familiar cast of training partners including Denis Kang, Nate Marquardt, Rashad Evans and, of course, lead trainer Greg Jackson, who will formulate the game plan that is expected to beat Serra. “I’ve been working for my game plan against Serra. Like I said, in (this) fight people will see some stuff that I’ve never shown before,” St. Pierre stated in an interview with MMAWeekly Radio. “Some stuff people have never seen in MMA. So it’s going to be interesting. Don’t blink because the fight can finish very early, or it can go to the distance, but don’t blink.”

Maia, who has won his first six career fights, will be in only his second in the UFC. “I feel pretty good. I love the Octagon,” Maia told MMAMania.com. Maia made his UFC debut at UFC 77: “Hostile Territory,” when he tooled Ryan Jensen, submitting him via rear naked choke in the first round.

Ben Saunders vs. Jared Rollins UFC 86 fight in the works
(mmamania.com)

There’s a welterweight fight brewing between The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 6 contestants, Ben Saunders (5-0-2) and Jared Rollins (6-4), for UFC 86: “Jackson vs. Griffin” at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 5, according to MMAWeekly.com..
IMO i think i'd be better to fight other fighters to see how they match up in the division, having 2 TUF fighter from the same season fighting doesnt make sense to me. Unless they want to get rid off J-rock, afterall the UFC did say they have too many fighters under contract

Dana White hints that Kimbo Slice-Chuck Liddell UFC fight could be possible
(mmamania.com)
“If he [Kimbo] fought anybody that mattered, I would book [Chuck Liddell] tomorrow…. The fact is, Kimbo’s not there yet. He would get destroyed. I heard he just got knocked out by Forrest Griffin last week in a sparring match after a kick to the head.” chuck would own kimbo, the most overhyped fighter in the history of combat sports. imo james thompson is going to beat him.
