Nate Diaz clarifies weight-cutting remarks, sees future at lightweight and welterweight
Nate Diaz (11-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC) is not leaving the lightweight division permanently — he just wants a break. Diaz, who came up short Monday night in a headlining fight with Gray Maynard (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 20, slammed his performance and said he wants to explore his options a weight class up. "It's just a possibility," Diaz today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "I'm not going to permanently go, but I could probably jump around. If I want to make (155 pounds) all year long and be starving and miserable for that long, I'd probably want to get paid more. Until I start getting paid more, maybe I should ease up a weight class."

Chris Leben Is Back After Win Over Jay "Tough Sucker" Silva
And "The Crippler" gave his defeated foe a lot of credit after their UFN 20 fight last night. "I love to stand up and bang with guys but when that's their strong point and I'm good all around I might as well put him where he's weakest. We knew stand up was his biggest attribute and it's a strategy of war, attack them where they're weakest. To his credit that guy is tough as hell. I've sunk that choke before and a lot of guys would have tapped, I know that for sure I've been around a while. It was pretty deep he's just a tough sucker."

Yoshizo Machida: My Son "Must" Fight Anderson Silva
They say father knows best, and in the case of Lyoto Machida his father believes the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion must fight Anderson Silva. He commented on such a fight in a recent magazine interview: "There is only one champion, so I believe this fight must happen. It's a professional issue, and I believe they can fight. Deep down, everyone wants to know who is strongest. Friendship is friendship, but they're not amateurs. The eventual winner isn't my concern. What matters to me is how they win, and their strategy. This would be a mental battle."

UFC 112: Edgar vs. Penn Likely For Abu Dhabi
The question going into last night was could Gray Maynard earn a title shot at BJ Penn at UFC 112? The Answer appears to be no. While nothing is definite yet, based on Maynard's split decision win it looks like Frank Edgar will get the next shot at UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn in Abu Dhabi. Edgar seems to have emerged as the frontrunner for the next shot, even though he does have one loss on his UFC record-Maynard.

Kendall Grove returns at UFC 112
Kendall ‘Da Spyder’ Grove is apparently fighting at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi against an as-yet unnamed opponent. The news is courtesy of Grove himself, who posted it to his Twitter account earlier. Whether he knows who his opponent is, he did not say, but fighters generally do not reveal themselves to have been added to a card without having signed a bout agreement. “Da spyders fighting in abudabi April 10 so pumped,” he wrote today. And in fact four days ago, Grove posted a message saying “All right I find out who I'm fighting this week and when. I can't wait.”
