James Toney Wants Lesnar After Couture
Current heavyweight boxing titleholder and two-time Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year James “Lights Out” Toney makes his mixed martial arts debut in Boston against UFC legend Randy “The Natural” Couture on Aug. 28. ..... “After I knock out Randy Couture, I’m coming for Brock’s bitch ass next.” AHAHAHAHAA.....wow I find this funny. If Dana ever let him fight Brock next (assuming he beats Couture which is in itself a HUGE assumption), which I doubt would happen, he had better knock him out on the first punch or he is going to get turned into meat on the ground.

Regretful Hunt Sees UFC as Last Chance
In a pair of high-top Air Jordans and matching basketball shorts, an unshaven, 290-pound Mark Hunt doesn't seem like any kind of combat sports star. Barely even a bouncer, really. "If I'd trained as hard as some of the guys out here, I probably wouldn't be sitting here right now," Hunt laments. "I'd be at a different level of fighting. "I just used up my time. I squandered it," he shrugs. Despite his nonchalance, he seems genuinely filled with regret. Hunt may have won the 2001 K-1 World Grand Prix and he may own MMA wins over Wanderlei Silva and Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, but "The Oceania Super Fighter" hasn't won a fight of any kind in more than four years. He's racked up five straight MMA losses, and in an ignominious K-1 return in April 2008, he was knocked out by a spinning back kick to the guts from heavyweight kingpin Semmy Schilt. Yet, in spite of his recent failures, the 36-year-old Hunt will get one last chance for redemption, and on the biggest stage imaginable.

No UFC Prelims For UFC 119, Possible For 121
Spike TV will not air a one-hour "UFC Prelims" pay-per-view teaser prior to September's UFC 119 event, but the possibility remains for UFC 121. That's according to a source close to Spike TV. UFC 120, of course, won't get a special because the Oct. 16 event already airs on Spike TV (via same-day delay from London).

Shane Carwin Hoping To Carve An MMA Legacy That Includes A Win Over Brock Lesnar
But he also knows that, at his age, he doesn't have much time. "At 35 who knows how much longer my body will allow me to compete at the highest level. I love to compete and I want to be the best at what I do. We have a lot to work on but standing at the base of the mountain you already climbed is a lot less daunting then climbing it for the first time. I have no idea what the UFC has planned for me yet. I am going to get back to work and try to solve some of my shortcomings, My goal is to face Brock again as soon as possible. I would like another chance and I am willing to work my butt off to get one. Part of the quest will be to win the UFC belt from whoever has it. I want to face the best fighter in MMA and make sure I leave a legacy behind."

McSweeney Will Not Appeal TUF 11 Finale Loss
Soon-to-be light heavyweight James McSweeney has opted to not appeal his most recent UFC loss. Lee McMahon, McSweeney's manager, initially said he was appealing the loss to the Nevada State Athletic Commision after he claimed Browne threw several illegal elbows during the fight. He provided a picture of a cut on the back of McSweeney's head as evidence of an off-limits strike, though he did not fault the UFC newcomer for the alleged no-no. The manager said McSweeney's corner met with a cageside doctor who agreed with his assessment. "The doctor who took a look at James after the fight said, 'I can tell you that (with) where this blow is, (it) could only have occurred from an illegal blow,'" McMahon said. However, NSAC executive director Keith Kizer said he didn't see anything illegal during the June 19 bout. Kizer also said today that he never received an appeal request.

Team Fedor Emelianenko Lays Out NEW UFC Contract Demands
Fedor Emelianenko is the hottest name on the MMA free agent market. The only problem is, the heavyweight still has one fight remaining on his current Strikeforce deal. Nonetheless, it hasn’t stopped M-1 Global figurehead Vadim Finkelchtein from laying all his Octagon cards on the table. “I think yes. But not on the same terms they offered us before,” Finkelchtein told ProSport (via Fighters Only) of joining forces with the UFC.

Tito Ortiz Thinks Chuck Should Stay Retired, Calls Out Forrest For November Trilogy
November is when Ortiz hopes to return to action following his back surgery, but despite his feelings regarding Chuck's future he still wants a piece of the Iceman even though he also wants Forrest again. "The surgery went really, really well. I just started doing weight training so next week I start doing drills. I have to make sure I make the right steps for my future and my career. I hope I get the Chuck fight. As a fighter, I would love to kick his ass. As a human being, I don't think he should fight anymore just because health is more important than fights. Grudge matches are important to sell, but at the same time he has kids to take care of and I don't want nothin' serious to happen to him. (Getting knocked out) that many times, it gets kinda scary. I was really shocked (by the loss to Rich Franklin fight), I saw all my money go out the window. It is what it is, everything in this world happens for a reason and I'll be back at the end of November. I'd like to [fight] Forrest. If Forrest would like to do a trilogy it'd be awesome. We gave two great fights both times we fought and we'll get a triple fight more exciting than the last two."

Brendan Schaub Ready For "A Cro Cop For A Gilbert Yvel
The Ultimate Fighter 10 vet Brendan Schaub is fresh off an impressive UFC 116 win over Chris Tuchscherer and now the heavyweight up and comer feels he is ready for a step up in competition: "I think I took a step ahead of the rest of those [up-and-comers] beating a guy like Tuchscherer," Schaub said. "If you look at the other up-and-comers, ... they're fighting guys (that are) not as experienced. I think I'd definitely be ready for a (Mirko) 'Cro Cop' (Filipovic) or a Gilbert Yvel. I won't call anyone out, but if Joe Silva calls me, I'm ready for whatever he wants to throw my way."

UFC 121 Likely For California In October
Although nothing is official yet and no contracts have been signed, UFC is targeting Honda Center and Anaheim and October 23 for what would be UFC 121. The UFC has yet to officially announce any plans for UFC 121, though the card would certainly follow traditional business plans. With UFC 120 scheduled for the week prior and airing on Spike TV, the UFC can use the broadcast to heavily promote the following week's pay-per-view card.

“During the first round, (referee) Josh (Rosenthal) was telling Brock to fight back or he will stop the fight,” explained Carwin, going back over the action from Saturday’s event in Las Vegas. “Every time I heard that, I unloaded a little more and eventually just punched myself out.”
