Ben Henderson claims UFC never told him Eddie Alvarez was hurt, booked Donald Cerrone without asking
"I didn't hear about it from the UFC at all. No one officially called me or called my manager or my coach. No one consulted with us or asked us if we would take the fight first. It was actually Cowboy who texted me first saying 'Hey bro, nothing personal, it's just business, nothing but love,' and I said 'Oh, cool'. I had no idea what he was talking about. I go on Twitter and look it up and go 'Oh, I see, Eddie Alvarez just got hurt.' So I said 'See you in Boston in a couple of weeks.' "

Diaz earned just $16,000 for his co-main event loss to dos Anjos this past December, according to information released to MMAFighting.com by the Arizona Boxing and MMA Commission.

Brad Tavares: Gegard Mousasi or C.B. Dollaway sounds good as next opponent
UFC middleweight Brad Tavares is taking a different approach to his career after breaking a two-fight losing streak with a decision win over Nate Marquardt earlier this month at UFC 182. “A few fights ago, I just wanted to keep climbing,” Tavares (13-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) told MMAjunkie Radio. “I wanted big names and big fights. But right now, I’m just excited that I get to do this. “There’s a lot of movement going on at middleweight; there’s a lot of key matchups like (Vitor Belfort vs. Chris Weidman) and (Lyoto Machida vs. Luke Rockhold). So when these guys fight, and we see where everything falls, wherever the UFC wants me to fight, I’ll fight.”

Report: Jon Jones spent one night in rehab, will be at brothers' AFC title game Sunday
In an interview with CBS affiliate WBNG-TV in Binghamton, N.Y., Jon Jones’ mother discussed her son’s recent positive cocaine test and rehab stint – and said he will be in Massachusetts on Sunday to watch his brothers battle to get to the Super Bowl. Camille Jones told the station Jones’ stay in a rehab facility lasted one night, but that he is “continuing to get more educated on the subject.” She also said Jones will be at Sunday’s AFC Championship game to watch his brothers, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Arthur Jones and New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones, play against each other yet again for a spot in the NFL’s title game. The two played against each other two years ago when Arthur was with Baltimore, when the Ravens upset the Patriots and went on to win the Super Bowl.

NSAC delays Francisco Rivera appeal until February
UFC bantamweight Francisco Rivera will have to wait at least one more month before he finds out whether the Nevada State Athletic Commission will overturn his December loss to Urijah Faber. NSAC officials today declined to hear Rivera’s argument until the could more clearly establish jurisdiction in the matter based on recommendations from the Nevada Attorney General’s office. Additionally, the commission members recommended both Faber and referee Mario Yamasaki, who oversaw the contest, be asked to appear at the rescheduled hearing. Rivera (10-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) was submitted by Faber (32-7 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in the second round of their UFC 181 content after he was clearly poked in the eye, which is a foul under the commission’s rules. Yamasaki did not catch the infraction despite verbal and physical cues from Rivera that he was fouled, so the bout was not stopped and Faber applied a bulldog choke.

T.J. Dillashaw wants fellow UFC champ Aldo if McGregor can't beat Siver
A combination of circumstances is pushing UFC bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw to propose a featherweight title shot against champ Jose Aldo. “Now would be the time, because I don’t have anyone to fight,” he told MMAjunkie Radio. Very recently, the list of viable contenders for Dillashaw (11-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) has dwindled when former champ Dominick Cruz (20-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) suffered another ACL injury and top bantamweight Rafael Assuncao (23-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) suffered a broken ankle that will take him out of fighting for the next few months.
