Raquel Pennington still looking to fight Holly Holm in 2015
Women’s bantamweight Raquel Pennington hasn’t forgotten Holly Holm and is angling to rebook their bout that was scratched for UFC 181.
Pennington (5-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC), a “TUF 18 alum, took on Ashlee Evans-Smith (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at the pay-per-view event earlier this month when Holm (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) suffered a neck injury and withdrew from the event.
UFC Partners with TSN, RDS, and Fight Network for Canadian Broadcasts
TSN, RDS, Fight Network and UFC on Monday announced a new multi-year agreement for Canadian media rights to UFC global events.
Bell Media’s TSN and RDS will deliver a slate of marquee UFC programming to fans across multiple platforms, including major live events, preliminary fights of UFC Pay-Per-View events, UFC Fight Night events, and The Ultimate Fighter series.
Fight Network will broadcast all UFC Fight Night events from around the world as well as preliminary bouts for domestic non-Pay-Per-View cards...
Sources: Monster nearing multi-year, multi-million dollar deal with UFC
Energy drink brand Monster could soon be seen in the UFC’s world-famous octagon.
According to multiple sources with knowledge of the deal, Monster is in advanced negotiations to enter a multi-year partnership with the UFC as an official sponsor. The partnership is worth more than $7 million dollars and puts the energy drink on the level of other major sponsors such as Reebok and Budweiser.
The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the deal publicly...
'Devastated' Raphael Assuncao breaks ankle in training
With Dominick Cruz suffering another injury, it could have been good news for Raphael Assuncao. However, the Brazilian bantamweight is also out with an injury.
Assuncao, who was hoping to fight for the UFC title after scoring seven straight wins as a bantamweight, but saw Cruz eventually taking his place against T.J. Dillashaw, won’t be able to return to the Octagon due to a broken ankle.
Former UFC champion Dominick Cruz sidelined with another knee injury
Dominick Cruz has suffered another knee injury.
The former UFC bantamweight champion, who was sidelined for years after suffering consecutive knee injuries, has now suffered an ACL injury in his right knee.
"It is with great sadness to report I have experienced another ACL injury," Cruz posted on his Facebook page. "This time it’s in the right knee, opposite side of my first and second ACL injuries."
