UFC Fight Night Brisbane Bonuses: Magny, Hunt, Matthews, Case Earn $50K
It was a tale of two rounds in the UFC Fight Night Brisbane co-main event, but ultimately it was Neil Magny who had more gas in the tank.
Magny earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his wild welterweight showdown against Hector Lombard on Saturday night, a contest that featured a pair of huge momentum swings. Lombard had Magny on the brink of defeat in round one, knocking his foe down and swarming for the finish. The Colorado-based fighter survived, and Lombard faded badly, as Magny battered “Showeather” for the duration of round two before mercifully putting his exhausted foe away 46 seconds into the final stanza.

Bryan Caraway clarifies inactivity comments, explains why he turned down Dodson
UFC bantamweight Bryan Caraway said he was offered a fight against John Dodson at UFC 196, but turned it down because his longtime girlfriend, Miesha Tate, was fighting for the UFC women’s bantamweight title.
Despite previously drawing heat from fighters and fans for rejecting UFC proposals, Caraway (20-7 MMA, 5-2 UFC) didn’t think twice about putting his partner first. But because of his choice, and his desire to fight highly ranked opposition, the promotion notified him he couldn’t immediately get another bout.
“I’m like, ‘I can’t fight on that night,’” he told MMAjunkie. “And they said, ‘Well, there’s no one else in the division right now, so you’re going to have to wait.’”

Dustin Poirier vs. Bobby Green set for UFC 199
Lightweight contender Dustin Poirier will face Bobby Green at UFC 199 on June 4th in Inglewood, California.
Fresh off both an impressive win over Joseph Duffy, as well as a new contract with the UFC, #10 ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier is set to make his return on June 4th against an opponent who has been out of action since late 2014. Brian Martin of the LA Daily News reported on Monday that "The Diamond" will fight Bobby Green at UFC 199 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. UFC officials have since confirmed the matchup.
Poirier (19-4), a former featherweight contender, went back up to 155 lbs after suffering a 1st round knockout loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 178. The move has paid off well for the 27-year-old, who stopped Diego Ferreira, Yancy Medeiros (at a catchweight when Medeiros came in heavy), and most recently scored a unanimous decision against Duffy. Last month, it was announced that Poirier had agreed to a new deal with the UFC, with the Duffy fight representing the penultimate one on his old contract.
