Bobby Green replaces Jamie Varner, meets Pat Healy at UFC on FOX 9
Bobby Green (21-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will look to stay perfect in the octagon as he steps up on one month’s notice to face Pat Healy (31-16 MMA, 0-2 UFC).
Green today announced via Facebook that he has agreed to replace an injured Jamie Varner (21-8-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and face Healy at UFC on FOX 9, which takes place Dec. 14 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif. MMAjunkie subsequently confirmed with a UFC official that verbal agreements are in for the fight and bout contracts are expected to be finalized shortly.

Following a first-round submission victory over Justin Salas at UFC Fight Night 32 in Goiania, Brazil, Tavares asked to be part of UFC Fight Night event in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, on Feb. 8, and that could be mark his debut as a featherweight.

The UFC and EA Sports recently announced UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones as the first cover athlete for the new EA Sports UFC video game. Alongside that announcement, it was revealed that a second cover athlete would be chosen via a fan vote.
The Cover Vote is a way for fans to get in on the action and determine the athlete that will grace the EA Sports UFC game cover opposite Jones.
The first round of the cover voting is in the books with Miesha Tate upsetting UFC women’s champion Ronda Rousey, and moving on to face Alexander Gustafsson in the second round.
