UFC Possibly Heading To Puerto Rico In 2014
(mmaweekly.com)
In a recent online chat presented by Metro PCS, White had a little bit more information on Puerto Rico, saying that it’s still a work in progress, but that they are making headway and the Octagon will be there soon. “We’ve been focused on Puerto Rico,” said White. “We’ve been doing some work down there.” Puerto Rico has a population of more than 3.7 million people, so the UFC isn’t taking the U.S. territory lightly. “We want to do a pay-per-view down there,” added White. “We know it’s a big market for us. I will say that we’ll probably do an event there in 2014.”

UFC: Stephan Bonnar and Dave Herman admit to taking banned substances
(mmajunkie.com)
Stephan Bonnar and Dave Herman admit to taking the banned substances that prompted their failed drug tests at this past month's UFC 153 event. That's according to the UFC, which recently issued a statement on both fighters. As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported on Friday, Bonnar tested positive for drostanolone, an anabolic steroid, and Herman's test detected marijuana metabolites. "The UFC has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents," the statement read. "Both fighters have admitted taking the banned substances and have orally agreed to suspensions. Once the suspensions have been reduced to written agreements, the results of their tests and the agreed-upon suspensions will be sent to the Association of Boxing Commissions official record-keeper so other jurisdictions will be on notice." The length of the suspensions wasn't disclosed.

Kyle Kingsbury contemplates retiring from MMA after recent string of losses
(mmamania.com)
Stephan Bonnar may not be the only mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter to cash-in on his 401K soon. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight monster Kyle Kingsbury recently hinted that he, too, might be leaning toward retiring from the sport after suffering three consecutive losses inside the Octagon. Appearing on "The MMA Hour" "Kingsbu" revealed his latest setback, which came at the ferocious hands, feet and elbows of Jimi Manuwa one month ago at UFC on Fuel TV 5: "Struve vs. Miocic," which lead to a six-month medical suspension because of multiple face fractures, has forced him to do some "soul searching" and evaluate whether or not he wants to continue fighting. His words: "I have no idea. They asked me for a quote right after the fight and I just said you know, I got some soul searching to do. I got to see where I'm at mentally, emotionally, and spiritually and really digest the whole situation. Digest the career, digest everything that's going on in my life and see if this is something I want to continue to do. Thankfully I got a six month suspension to figure it out, so it's not anything I have to decide right off the bat. But, it is something where you look at your career and, a lot of fans will look at me and say, 'That guy never had a shot at winning a title.' And, maybe they're right, but, nobody gets into this sport thinking, 'I'm going to be a millionaire by being a fighter.' People get into this sport thinking, 'I want to beat someone's ass and I want to try to get the title.' Getting to the UFC level and now being 4-4 as a UFC fighter, it was never my goal to come in and be a .500 fighter. It was never my goal to come in and win one, lose one, win three, lose three, that kind of deal. So, whatever I end up choosing, if I do end up wanting to fight again, I know there is going to be a period of time where I will work at trying to improve before I come back to the table to fight again. You look at a guy like Dan Hardy who took time after his losses and came back and he's well again. So, whatever the decision is, there is going to be sometime between now and the next one."

Mark Hunt wants Alistair Overeem rematch upon UFC return
(mmamania.com)
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender, Mark Hunt, is making no bones about who he would like to face in his return to the Octagon. Appearing on the most recent edition of "The MMA Hour," Hunt revealed he would like to get his rematch against current top contender, Alistair Overeem: "If they'd like to get me a fight I'd like to get a rematch with Alistair Overeem, you know, when he comes back from his injury or from whatever, his hiatus. You know? I'd like to have my rematch with him. I'd be willing to fight next year so it doesn't matter. If he gets a title shot, that's good on him, so."
