Francisco Trinaldo announces UFC 153 fight with Gleison Tibau
Francisco "Massaranduba" Trinaldo (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will fight fellow Brazilian lightweight Gleison Tibau (25-8 MMA, 10-6 UFC) at UFC 153.
Trinaldo announced the fight via Facebook. However, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) could not immediately confirm the matchup, and UFC officials haven't made a formal announcement.
This fight is awesome two huge strong lightweights going at it.
It also makes 12 fights so looks like this stellar card is complete, I wonder why the Mutante/Sarafian fight never came to fruition.

Trainer of UFC fighter Chael Sonnen jailed in Portland
The head trainer of Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Chael Sonnen was jailed Wednesday for allegedly violating the terms of his supervised release from prison on a fraud conviction.
David Shelofsky, a 44-year-old West Linn resident, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul J. Papak, who ordered him to held in the Multnomah County Jail until he appears next week to contest his detention.
It's unclear what Shelofsky might have done, if anything, to violate the terms of his post-prison supervision.
Shelofsky, a former California police officer, had served as a fraud investigator for U.S. Bank in Portland before getting caught embezzling $1.5 million of the money he had recovered for the bank. He was sentenced in March 2008 to a little more than three years in prison. He got out in August 2010.
Ed Soares vetoes Jon Jones and Chris Weidman Fights; Open to Nick Diaz
We're still far away from finding out UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva's next opponent.
But on Wednesday, Silva's manager, Ed Soares, emphatically stated he doesn't think a bout with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is the right fight to make.
Speaking with reporters at the UFC on FOX 4 open workouts at the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Los Angeles, Soares ridiculed the notion of making a champion vs. champion superfight.
"I don't think it's a good fight," Soares said. "I think No. 1, Jon Jones, said he doesn't want the fight, and Anderson said he doesn't want the fight. What is it going to do for Jones if he goes go down in weight to fight Anderson? If he loses it's going to ruin him. If Anderson Silva moves up in weight and fights Jon Jones, here's a lighter guy who's going to take my title? C'mon dude.

How Brazil's 'Pimp My Ride' led Wagner Prado to UFC on FOX 4
Wagner Prado's road to the UFC included a chance opportunity and a pimped-out 1975 Ford Maverick.
A promising MMA fighter who was light on funds, Prado purchased the beat-up clunker after a pair of early-career victories, but he didn't have the funds to fix it up.
So his mom wrote a letter to Luciano Huck – the host of a Brazilian variety show that includes a segment similar to MTV's "Pimp My Ride." Not only did Prado (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) eventually get a sweet ride, he was introduced to the training partners and MMA royalty who would help him get to the UFC.

Josh Barnett welcomes UFC import, thinks Cormier will stop Mir in the second
A new door opened, at least in theory, to Strikeforce fighters this past week when ex-UFC champ Frank Mir was exported to fight Daniel Cormier in October.
While Cormier's engagement is frequently billed as the last in the Strikeforce heavyweight division before being folded, the man he defeated to win the promotion's heavyweight grand prix title also is owed a fight.
That man, Josh Barnett, is one of the more marketable fighters in the division despite a recent loss to Cormier. As quick with submissions as he is in interviews, he would be a welcome addition to the UFC.
Francis Carmont, Tom Lawlor to Fight at UFC 15
Francis Carmont impressed observers in his most recent fight. The performance has earned him a bout in his hometown.
Carmont and "Filthy" Tom Lawlor have agreed to meet in a middleweight matchup at UFC 154 on Nov. 17 at Montreal's Bell Centre, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.
Cain Velasquez 'wondering what the hold up is' with Junior dos Santos rematch
"Right now, I'm just getting ready and waiting for a date. We don't really know what's going on with the dos Santos thing. The speculation that I was hurt -- I got an x-ray to show people that I'm not. There's speculation that he's hurt, maybe. I dunno what's going on. I'm just getting ready and waiting for a date for me and him to fight."
Since these two big-time heavyweights threw down the first time, Velasquez has been able to re-think his strategy and what he did wrong in defeat:
"The thing with the last fight and this one, this time, what we're gonna do different is actually attack him and actually fight him. We didn't do that last time. I didn't do what I was supposed to do, with the gameplan, and I definitely paid for it. I'm not making the mistake again with him."
He definitely feels like he'll have a better strategy going into his second go-round, but he's still not over the initial setback. According to Velasquez, it's a moment he's re-lived since last November:
"It's always playing in my head. He's my one loss, and I wanna go back and avenge it. Just knowing what you did wrong, I mean, I definitely look back at the fight. I just have to learn from it and move on."
So, when will this second battle of the behemoths take place? As far as Velasquez is concerned, your guess is just as good as his:
"They really haven't said anything as of right now. I was just wondering what the hold up was. They thought that I was hurt, and I went ahead and kinda quieted those things down. I'm just waiting for a date."
Some of the speculation that has been bandied about is that the UFC is dragging its feet because they'd prefer to see "Cigano" fight Alistair Overeem when he returns in December.
He's heard the chatter, but he feels like he is the name that makes the most sense, because he can be ready as soon as they need him to be:
"I think, possibly, if they're waiting for that match-up, but that's in December. I'm ready now."
Matt Mitrione vs. Rob Broughton Rescheduled for UFC on FX 5
If at first you don’t succeed…
A heavyweight bout originally scheduled for UFC on Fox 4 will still take place, except it has been pushed back to Oct. 5 as part of the newly created UFC on FX 5 show instead.
Heavyweights Matt Mitrione and Rob Broughton have agreed to meet at the upcoming show in Minneapolis after Broughton was forced off this weekend’s card due to “personal issues.”
