ShoMMA Coming Soon To Showtime
With Strikeforce returning to Showtime, plans are in place to bring back the old "ShoXC" program to Showtime under the name "ShoMMA". The events, with the first one tentatively scheduled for May 15 in Fresno, CA, will feature fight cards with prospects and up-and-coming talent.
Joe Riggs vs. Phil Baroni possible for June
A rumored match up between welterweight bout between Joe Riggs and Phil Baroni appears to be a very good possibility for a Strikeforce card that is tentatively set for June.
Joe Riggs Goes Off on Jake Shields

James Thompson Says He's SF Property, Fighting At Sengoku 9
James Thompson spoke to The Fight Network today, and made a few things clear. He first announced that he would be fighting at Sengoku: Ninth Battle, which has not been announced as of yet, and wants a rematch with Kazuyuki Fujita. He also says Strikeforce picked up his ProElite contract, and when he debuts there is up to SF.

Lawler vs. Shields Likely For June 6
As the second Strikeforce event continues to come together, word out of Robbie Lawler's camp is he is set to face Jake Shields on what would be a June 6 event in St. Louis. Other sources close to the fight confirmed this, but Strikeforce officials did not.

Carano Says Cyborg Fight Will Happen
Of course the question is when. Although Gina Carano has been staying out of the MMA spotlight for now while taking a break from fighting, she still says her much-anticipated fight with Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos will happen this year. It just seems to be a question of when and if StrikeForce will be able to pay enough to secure Carano's services based on her drawing power.
Brett Rogers vs. Ron Humphries signed for Strikeforce’s April 11 event
While the bout is still pending the approval of the California State Athletic Commission, FiveOuncesOfPain.com has confirmed with multiple sources that Rogers has been scheduled to take on former BET Iron Ring veteran Ron Humphries (5-0).
Strikeforce All But Finalizes April Card
With the announcement of what will be the 6 prelim fights today, Strikeforce has now virtually finalized it's April 11 card. Raul Castillo vs. Brandon Michaels completes the prelim portion of the card, and now the only thing left to be determined is an opponent for Brett Rogers with Joe Riggs vs. Phil Baroni likely not happening.

Shields-Lawler Added to May Strikeforce
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Former EliteXC champions Jake Shields and Robbie Lawler will face off in a non-title middleweight contest for Strikeforce in May at a yet-to-be-announced Washington state venue. Shields vs. Riggs on Apr. 11 Strikeforce Card Cancelled
A previously announced welterweight bout between former EliteXC champion Jake Shields and UFC veteran Joe Riggs has been scratched from Strikeforce's April 11 line-up on Showtime. The news comes courtesy of The Fight Network's partner FiveOuncesOfPain.com. According to the report by Sam Caplan, neither Riggs or Shields is injured. Sources told Caplan that Shields may be preserved for a main event spot on the next Strikeforce card in Seattle set for May, possibly against former EliteXC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler.

Touche, Strikeforce: UFC Strikes Again With Counterprogramming
So much for Strikeforce getting a free pass from UFC even though SF promoter Scott Coker & Dana White don't have a bad relationship. On April 11, when SF broadcasts it's return event on Showtime, UFC will counter with a replay of UFC 94 for free on Spike.

Strikeforce Director of Communications Mike Afromowitz confirmed with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the addition of Zak Bucia vs. James Terry, Eric Lawson vs. Richard Montoya and Buck Meredith vs. Luke Rockhold. Afromowitz said Strikeforce will soon confirm two final bouts for the evening's preliminary card.
