Bob Sapp vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski Signed for KSW 19 Main Event
Apr 2, 2012 - Apparently, Bob Sapp has recovered from the mysterious leg injury that led to his most recent loss less than one month ago, because "the Beast" is ready to get back in the cage, and the matchup is one that should delight fans of the old "freakshow" style of matchmaking.
Sapp, who has lost five in a row and eight of his last nine, is now set to fly to Poland to take on that country's favorite son, former World's Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski.
The KSW promotion confirmed the matchup which will take place as the main event of KSW 19 on May 12 at Atlas Stadium in Lodz.
M-1 / ONE FC cross promotion headlined by Fedor Emelianenko set for Singapore in October?
M-1's Director of Operations Evgeni Kogan attended last night's (March 31, 2012) ONE FC show as a special guest of CEO / Owner Victor Cui, fueling rumors that a cross promotion between the two organizations headlined by Fedor Emelianenko might be in the works.
When Emelianenko was at the height of his success and negotiations were underway with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the biggest issue was M-1's insistence that any deal should involve a cross promotion, something that Dana White and company were totally unwilling to countenance.
This is where ONE FC and the UFC differ. Whereas the UFC refuses to work with other mixed martial arts (MMA) organizations, ONE FC has embraced the concept of cross promotion and has even formed a network to allow fighters to move freely between Dream, Deep, Road FC, URCC, CFC (in Australia) and various others.

Antonio McKee returns to face Chad Dietmeyer at 'Untamed 2' on May 30 in Anaheim
Extreme Fighters World Championship is back with "The Untamed 2" on Friday, May 30 at The Grove of Anaheim, California. This is the debut event for EFWC on GFL.tv and the organization looks to make a splash in a big way with a stacked card and a hotly anticipated main event. "The Untamed 2" will no doubt build on the growing momentum of high level events that EFWC presents.
In the main event, Antonio McKee (27-4-2) fights Chad Dietmeyer (8-1) in a lightweight scrap. McKee is a former UFC veteran, a former champion with MFC and an IFL standout. There is not a better fighter in the game that can control a fight and take it to the ground and keep it on the ground like McKee. McKee went on an 8 year undefeated streak and looks to continue his two-fight streak he is currently riding.
For Dietmeyer, this will be a huge step up in competition and with it comes a huge career opportunity. Dietmeyer has fought on the Arizona circuit for some time, grabbing regional titles and a victory over the vaunted McKee would do wonders for his future.
Jens Pulver signed to Cage Warriors
The Cage Warriors FC roster continues to expand, with the organisation pleased to announce that it has secured the services of former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver.
Pulver has signed a deal which will see him fight exclusively for CWFC outside of the USA. The 37-year-old will also travel to Cage Warriors events to host seminars and meet-and-greet sessions with fans.
A native of Washington, Pulver (25-16-1) was the UFC’s first lightweight champion having defeated Caol Uno to take the title in February 2001. He successfully defended the belt against both Dennis Hallman and BJ Penn. Pulver was a coach on Season 5 of The Ultimate Fighter and also has a wealth of experience on other top promotions such as Pride FC and WEC.

TOM WATSON STOPS JACK MARSHMAN AT BAMMA 9, RETAINS MIDDLEWEIGHT CROWN
BIRMINGHAM, England -- Tom Watson scored a second-round TKO over Jack Marshman to retain his British Association of Mixed Martial Arts middleweight title in the main event of BAMMA 9 at the National Indoor Arena on Saturday.
The crowd was bolstered by a large contingent from serving paratrooper Marshman’s regiment, and the atmosphere was cranked high in anticipation of the fight. Both combatants set off at a furious pace, with Marshman trying to find his range, while the experienced Watson picked him off with punches and kicks. “Kong” had the better of some vicious exchanges, but also suffered a cut above his eye for his troubles.
The second stanza continued in the same fashion, with both men looking to land big shots. Marshman continued to push forward despite taking a number of tasty leg kicks, but Watson’s more varied arsenal brought the beginning of the end.
As his Welsh opponent tried to close the distance, “Kong” landed a spinning-back elbow. Marshman was rocked and Watson kindly helped him on his way down. The years of training across the Atlantic began to pay dividends as Watson controlled his man on the deck while landing spiteful punches and elbows. Marshman offered nothing in return, prompting referee Marc Goddard to stop the contest at the 4:50 mark, making for an impressive comeback for Watson after a nearly year-long injury layoff.

Ryan Healy replaces Gabe Ruediger, faces Paul Kelly at Super Fight League 2
While India's Super Fight League is not legally required to follow the orders of the California State Athletic Commission, promotion officials have decided to do exactly that.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned that SFL officials will respect the CSAC-ordered medical suspension of Gabe Ruediger (17-8).
Ruediger therefore has been pulled from a planned SFL 2 matchup with UFC vet Paul Kelly (12-4), and Ryan Healy (19-10) will instead take the matchup.
Super Fight League 2 takes place April 7 in Chandigarh, India.
DUFFEE-GROVE, SHLEMENKO-MINOWA, KELLY-RUEDIGER BOOKED FOR SUPER FIGHT LEAGUE 2
Six big-show veterans have joined the fight card for the sophomore effort from burgeoning Indian organization Super Fight League.
Promotion officials Tuesday confirmed a trio of bouts for Super Fight League 2, which takes place April 7 in Chandigarh, India. In addition to a previously rumored heavyweight tilt between Todd Duffee and Neil Grove, the show will feature a middleweight matchup pitting Alexander Shlemenko against Ikuhisa Minowa and a lightweight contest between UFC veterans Paul Kelly and Gabe Ruediger.
Like the company’s March 11 debut, Super Fight League 2 will stream live and free of charge on YouTube.

SFL's Phil Baroni has seen both sides of Joe Rogan vs. 'Rampage' feud
Phil Baroni can understand why Quinton "Rampage" Jackson got angry at UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
Back in the day, he did too.
But Baroni's opinion changed when he did Rogan's job himself. Now on the verge of a gig calling the fights for the new India-based promotion, Super Fight League, he knows the job.
Super Fight League's inaugural event takes place March 11 at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai, India. The event streams live on YouTube.
Not a lot of people remember this, but the UFC once sent Baroni to communications classes at UNLV. This was during his first tenure with the then-struggling fight promotion and after he got a call to be a color commentator at UFC 42.
