Trigg don’t confirm fight against Jacaré
From Tatame.com:
Although the confirmation by DREAM, that Ronaldo Jacaré vs. Frank Trigg was confirmed at the first round of the Middleweight GP of the event, the American says the opposite. "I haven't heard anything from DREAM in about a week and a half. We started talking about a month ago, but lately, there's been no communication. I really haven't even thought about it lately, said him to MMAJunkie.com.
The article says too that Trigg neither has a visa to go to Japan and that his wife can be one delay to DREAM plans. “My wife is very pregnant and can't fly. “She'd miss the whole tournament, and that's a big deal for to take a fight without her there by my side", said Frank Trigg.:

Da Riddum, Da Rebel, and Da UFC Welterweight Championship
Good morning, afternoon, evening, or whatever in-between time it is that your eyes have found their way to the Punch Drunk Hangover! I'm here with another one-stop shop for catching up on last week's Mixed Martial Arts news. As always, it's a pleasure bringing you Monday's reaction to a UFC Pay Per View event and I don't think I'm alone in my feeling UFC 83 delivered everything a fan could have hoped for and maybe even a little more. The crowd was perhaps the best in promotional history, though I also give a ton of credit to the Ohioans at UFC 68 who showed up in full force to support Randy Couture and Rich Franklin. The Montreal fans were loud from start to finish, whether raining down their adulation, disproval, or chants of "G-S-P", "Gou-let", "OLE! OLE OLE OLE!", or any of the other en masse, sometimes R-Rated, choruses of raucous cheering. Their enthusiasm, whether positive or negative, added to my enjoyment of an event featuring great action, incredible technique, highlight-reel moments, and a few laughs to boot.
I thought "Ken-Flo" did a solid job acting as Joe Rogan's replacement, though I will admit, I found myself wishing Randy Couture was still in the good graces of the UFC, and vice-versa, as he would have almost certainly been acting in Florian's role were we in that alternate dimension. Ken did a nice job on color commentary and it was hard not to smile at his post-fight exchange with Rich Franklin regarding the Middleweight's resemblance to Jim Carrey. If the Canadian comedian decided to smash his nose into a wall a few times I might tend to agree with Florian's assessment (which was also made by 411's Adam Tool in his latest column). Personally, I think Matt Lindland looks like he and the LotR's Gollum were separated at birth but that's a subject for a future PDH. And, again, sorry for any delay in load times but UFC 83 had too many memorable moments to not share with the world via animated GIF file.

DREAM On Hold-Akiyama Out Of DREAM MWGP
(sherdog.com) The Dream is over for Yoshihiro Akiyama. Originally scheduled to participate in the upcoming DREAM Middleweight GP, he is now out due to a re-injury of the serious nasal bone fracture suffered in his fight with Kazuo Misaki. It was also confirmed that he won't get a bye into the next round either-he's out of the GP completely.
Barnett Returns At Sengoku 2
(sherdog.com) Another return engagement is now set for World Victory Road Sengoku 2 on May 18 in Japan: Josh Barnett, who fought on the first WVR event, has been announced for the upcoming event. Opponent TBA but sources indicate it's likely to be either Japanese judo star Naoya Ogawa or or Brazilian Marcio Cruz.
Fedor Must Repay 1.5 Mil signing bonus before being officially released
(fighters.com) Despite “The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko’s (27-1) official website claim that he has signed a contract to fight heavyweight “Maine-iac” Tim Sylvia (24-4), the fight is not yet official.
Emelianenko must repay the $1.5 million signing bonus to the group that formed M-1 Global in October 2007 before he is officially released from the agreement he made with M-1 Global
That M-1 Global group has since formed Adrenaline MMA. Andrenaline MMA’s Vice-President Brian Patton said today, “[Emelianenko and his management] have only paid part of [the debt] and are not released yet.”

Trigg: "no truth" to Souza report
(mmajunkie.com) "I'm literally sitting in a car right now trying to get to Wrigley Field to throw out a first pitch," Trigg said. "I haven't heard anything from [DREAM] in about a week and a half. We started talking about a month ago, but lately, there's been no communication. I really haven't even thought about it lately."
"We have no contract, and we have no numbers we're even close to agreeing on," he said.
Trigg also said he was unlikely to fight for DREAM unless the event were to air on HDNet. Without an American audience, "it does no good for the my brand as a fighter, broadcaster, writer or for my company Triggonomics," he said. "No one would see me."

BodogFight Down For The Count?
(mmaweekly.com) Sure looks like it. Sources within BodogFight confirm that the organization will be shutting down next week. It started strong with a reality series and a PPV featuring Fedor Emelianenko vs. Matt Lindland, but never got over with avid MMA fans and a subsequent live event may have been the eventual death blow.

Mirko Cro Cop's Agent Turned Down Offer To Fight Semmy Schilt
(fightline.com) Ken Imai, Mirko Cro Cop's agent recently admitted that he turned down an offer to fight K-1 Superstar Semmy Schilt under MMA rules at Dream 1.
"In DREAM first fight, I reject some matchmake plan," Imai told Kamipro Magazine. This is not Mirko's but my decision. For example, I said no about Mirko vs Semmy Schilt (MMA rules). For Mirko's "Dream" first match, Semmy is too hard."
