UFC's Brian Foster gets tuneup at Cage Warriors 44, meets vet Jack Mason
Sidelined for a year due to injuries, UFC welterweight Brian Foster has received permission to fight outside the organization and now meets Jack Mason in a 181-pound catchweight bout at Cage Warriors 44.
Cage Warriors executive Graham Boylan today confirmed the plans with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
The event takes place Oct. 1 at HMV Forum in London and streams online in North America.
Foster (15-5) vs. Mason (17-8) takes the co-headlining slot.
Bellator signs "TUF 11" contestant Norman Paraisy
Bellator Fighting Championships continues to scoop up international prospects, and middleweight Frenchman Norman Paraisy is the promotion's latest acquisition.
MMAjunkie.com has learned from sources close to the fighter that Paraisy has verbally agreed to compete for Bellator later this year.
Paraisy's lone official career loss actually came under the Bellator banner in an April 2009 bout with Dave Menne.

Bellator 51 preliminary card finalized with six bouts
Four new fights have been added to this month's Bellator 51 preliminary card.
The total now sits at six fights that will stream live on Spike.com.
Bellator 51 takes place Sept. 24 at Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio. The MTV2-televised main card, which also airs in high-definition on EPIX, features the opening round of Bellator's season-five bantamweight tournament.
Ohio's biggest MMA promotion, the NAAFS, is co-promoting the night's preliminary card.

Bellator 49 ratings: Event draws 235,000 MTV2 viewers, ranks fourth all-time
This past weekend's Bellator 49 event on MTV2, which kicked off the organization's fifth season, drew 235,000 viewers, MTV officials today confirmed with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
Of the 15 MTV2-televised Bellator events to date, Bellator 49 ranked fourth all-time in ratings history.
Bellator 49 took place this past Saturday, Sept. 10, at New Jersey’s Caesars Atlantic City and kicked off the organization's season-five welterweight tournament.
Bellator's Ben Askren vs. Jay Hieron title fight could take place at Mizzou
Bellator officials are close to naming a date and venue for a season-five title fight between welterweight champion Ben Askren (8-0 MMA, 5-0 BFC) and recent tournament winner Jay Hieron (22-4 MMA, 3-0 BFC).
And if officials get their way, it'll take place on the campus of the University of Missouri, where Askren won two NCAA Division I national wrestling championships.
But as Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney recently told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), there could be some hurdles.
Bellator 53 gets Saunders-Santos, Lozano-Lima welterweight-tourney semifinals
Four fighters remain alive and well in Bellator's season-five welterweight tournament following Saturday's Bellator 49 event, which took place at Caesar's Atlantic City in New Jersey and aired on MTV2.
Following the event, which kicked off the eight-man tournament, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed the semifinal matchups with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
They are set for Saturday, Oct. 8, at Bellator 53.
Both the location and venue of Bellator 53 still have yet to be finalized.
Ben Saunders (11-3-2 MMA, 2-0 BFC) squares off against Luis Santos (50-6-1 MMA, 2-0 BFC) in one semifinal while across the bracket, Chris Lozano (9-1 MMA, 2-1 BFC) meets Douglas Lima (19-4 MMA, 1-0 BFC).
Junie Browning Way Overweight For MMA Fight Pit: Genesis Bout
Junie Browning, the former Ultimate Fighter bad boy who was cut by the UFC after an arrest in 2009, has his biggest fight since then on Saturday night, on the MMA Fight Pit: Genesis pay-per-view. But if Friday's weigh-in is any indication, Browning still doesn't have his head screwed on right.
Browning weighed in at 162.25 pounds for the lightweight fight, or 7.25 pounds over the limit. A fighter coming in overweight by any amount is unprofessional, but coming in overweight by that much is absolutely inexcusable.
Tachi Palace Fights 10 salaries: Top-level Flyweights prove affordable
The total disclosed payroll for this past weekend's Tachi Palace Fights 10 event, which featured some of the world's top 125-pounders, was $85,500.
The event, "TPF 10: Let the Chips Fall," took place Aug. 5 at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif.

Sokoudjou Signs to Challenge 205-Pound Champion Ryan Jimmo at MFC 31
The Maximum Fighting Championship on Thursday announced MFC 31: The Rundown featuring a light heavyweight title bout pitting current champion Ryan Jimmo against newly signed Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. The MFC 31 fight card takes place on Oct. 7 at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and will be broadcast on HDNet.
The announced title bout displaces an MFC lightweight title bout between recently re-signed champion Antonio McKee and Brian Cobb. The two will instead clash at MFC 32 in November, although an exact date and location had not been pinned down at the time of publication.
Brazilian Lightweight Ricardo Tirloni Signs With Bellator Fighting Championships
CHICAGO, Ill. (August 1, 2011) - Bellator Fighting Championships confirmed today the signing of top Brazilian lightweight prospect Ricardo Tirloni. Tirloni joins a lightweight division that already features the likes of Season 4 Lightweight Tournament winner Michael Chandler, Patricky Pitbull, Rene Nazare, Marcin Held and Bellator Lightweight World Champion Eddie Alvarez.

MFC Signs Five Year Deal With HDNet
Maximum Fighting Championship put out a press release today touting a new deal with HDNet that will extend for five more years. MFC has been on the network since February 2008, and is one of the cornerstones of HDNet's MMA programming.
Zelg Galesic vs. Alexander Shlemenko in the works for Bellator 50
Russian striker Alexander Shlemenko (39-7 MMA, 4-1 BFC) will welcome Croatian banger Zelg Galesic (10-5 MMA, 0-0 BFC) to the Bellator Fighting Championships cage.

Gerald Harris signs multi-fight deal with DREAM, could debut at September event
Gerald Harris (18-4 MMA, 0-0 DREAM) is bound for Japan.
The ex-UFC middleweight today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that he's signed a multi-fight with DREAM.
While Harris' debut for the promotion has yet to be determined, though DREAM representative Mike Kogan said today that there is "a very good chance" the fighter could appear on an as-yet-unannounced event, possibly DREAM.17, targeted for Sept. 25 at Saitama Arena in Saitama, Japan.
CCSC finding supports ref in Couture bout
Judging and refereeing in MMA have recently come under heavy criticism due to a series of questionable actions in high profile matches.
on July 8 at AX Combat 1 on July 8 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada a fight between Kim Couture and Sheila Bird hit the mat, and Bird secured a head scissor on her opponent. As can be seen in the video below (1:50 mark), Couture's entire body went visbily limp, and several long seconds passed before the ref ended the bout. Further, the ref ended it not by tapping the winning competitor or physically pulling the legs apart, but by waving his hands overhead.
Couture quiickly recovered, suffered no damage from the choke, and publicly stated she had no problem with the officiating.

Former professional wrestling superstar Bobby Lashley (6-1) has been forced to withdraw from next week's Titan Fighting Championship 19 event due to personal reasons.
Titan Fighting Championship officials on Friday morning announced the heavyweight's removal from the card, simultaneously promoting a 160-pound catchweight fight between Clay French (18-6) and James Krause (12-3) to the evening's main event.
A female scrap between Tonya Evinger (8-5) and Olympic wrestling silver medalist Sara McMann (2-0).
Lashley is now expected to return to action at Titan Fighting Championship 20, which takes place Aug. 26.
British Association of Mixed Martial Arts signs top free-agent Nate Marquardt
Nate Marqaurdt (31-10-2) is heading across the Pond.
British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) officials today announced a multi-fight contract with the former UFC contender and King of Pancrase.
"As soon as we received word that the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission lifted Marquardt's suspension, we jumped at the chance to sign him," BAMMA exec Liam Fisher stated. "He is a top-ranked contender and an asset to any promotion. Words cannot express how excited we are that Marquardt is now fighting under the BAMMA banner."
