Corey Hill Continues "High Stakes" Comeback Against Rob McCullough On 9/9
(mmamania.com)
Lanky and likable UFC veteran Corey Hill continues his improbable comeback when he competes for the fourth time this year, taking on former WEC Lightweight Champion Rob McCullough at the upcoming Tachi Palace Fights 6: "High Stakes" event on Sept. 9 in Lemoore, California. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 contestant sustained a grisly leg fracture when his opponent at UFC Fight Night 16: "Fight for the Troops," Dale Hartt, checked a kick from Hill during their lightweight bout at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C., in December 2008. The fallen fighter was originally expected to be out up to eighteen months after undergoing surgery to repair the fracture, yet Hill was back in the gym just four months later. He defied the odds by not only coming back earlier than anticipated -- but by taking the unanimous decision in his return fight against Jason Trzewieczynski at January's "Raging Wolf" event from the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel in Niagara, NY. Hill was unfazed by a submission loss to Mark Holst at XKL: "Evolution 1" in March and improved his record to 4-3 by tapping out Kit Cope just last month at RW 8: "Cage Supremacy" in Salamanca. "Razor" Rob will be his toughest test to date -- but could also put an exclamation point on his comeback should he prevail.

Impact FC hasn't paid its fighters
(mixedmartialarts.com)
The majority of the fighters who competed on the Impact Fighting Championships' two scheduled July MMA events in Australia have not been paid by the promotion. The list of unpaid fighters includes Karo Parisyan, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Jesse Taylor and Brian Ebersole. Although most commissions require that fighters be paid before the promoter leaves the arena the night of the show (some even hold onto and distribute the money themselves) none of the men who fought on either show received checks before flying home from Australia. A handful of them have since received partial payment – the most being 75% of what was owed, however most of the fighters we spoke to have yet to receive a dime, despite multiple phone calls they have made and emails they have sent to promoters Tom Huggins and Andrew McManus asking that they be paid.

Top 10 most under-appreciated Fighters in MMA
(bleacherreport.com)
In any major sport there will always be the big stars, the breakout performers, and the face of promotions. On the flip side there are the work horses, the guys that do the grunt work and don't get the fame, the fortune, and the respect. With that in mind, here is a run down of the Top 10 MMA fighters who are underappreciated and don't get the respect they deserve. Will Chris Leben make the list? --------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not sure some of the guys on there deserved it. Hieron should be higher IMO. Tyron Woodley hasn't been around long enough to be 'under-appreciated'. Jim Miller at least gets respect from the hardcores. Bisping, even with all the criticism, is a pretty big star. And as for Evan Dunham, I think people are finally recognizing him after his win over Tyson. What do you guys think?
