Source Tachi Palace Fights to Shutter Doors in 2013
After 11 years of promoting mixed martial arts, the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino is likely out of the fight business.
Sherdog.com confirmed the information with a source close to the situation, who verified that tribal council members have voted to discontinue Tachi Palace Fights during the council’s annual meeting to discuss the casino’s entertainment options in the coming year. As a result, TPF 16, which was scheduled to go down Feb. 21, will not take place. However, Sherdog’s source also stated that if the decision is disputed by the people of the tribe, the population’s opinion could sway the council to change its decision. Nevertheless, even if the tribe votes to challenge the council’s ruling, is unlikely the development would affect the cancellation of TPF 16, as the aforementioned process is not expected to come to a head until February or March, according to Sherdog’s source.

Score Fighting Series 7 results: Mein quickly stops Petz, Ronson batters Healy
Strikeforce took a gamble by loaning out Jordan Mein, one of its top welterweight prospects, for Friday's Score Fighting Series 7 headliner.
Against UFC vet Forrest Petz, he faced a heavy-handed fighter with proven knockout power.
Yet, quickly in the main-event fight, it looked like anything but a risky proposition.
Mein made short work Petz and battered him with punches, elbows and knees from close quarters for a quick and efficient first-round TKO victory. The bout headlined SFS 7 and took place at Hamilton Place Theatre in Ontario, Canada. The main card aired live on AXS TV.
Although Petz opened up early, Mein quickly pounced with countershots and put him on the defensive with accurate strikes. The stoppage, which primarily was the result of standing elbow strikes, came at the 1:29 mark of the opening round.
"I had to respect his power ... but once I landed a few elbows, I felt good," said Mein, who isn't sure if he has an immediate future in the rumored-to-be-closing Strikeforce promotion. "I'm excited and happy."
Mein (26-8) is now 8-1 over his past nine fights, and the lone defeat came via close split decision to Tyron Woodley. Petz (25-10), meanwhile, snaps a four-fight win streak.

The 23-year-old Gadelha - from Mossoro, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil - is a three-time world champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She's used that as her base in winning six of her first nine fights via submission, all in less than 2:08.

Rickson Gracie's 'Mestre do Combate' event live stream
The promotion is the brainchild of the legendary Rickson Gracie, and features some unique rules.
Today's event follows a "Rio vs. Sao Paulo" theme. Murilo Bustamante and Fernando Veras will coach teams, and five guys from each side will take each other on (not all at once, though that would be cool). There will also be three other bouts, the main event and two co-mains. Here's a look at the card:
Vitor Miranda vs. Elton "Monstro" Rodrigues
Peterson Maffort vs. Robert Peter
Luciano "Izzy" Correa vs. Oseias Viana
Samurais vs. Scorpions:
Fernando Camoles vs. Kitner Moura
Armando Sixel vs. Thiago Fernandes
Gerson Conceicao vs. Alexandre "Sagat" Nunes Brandao
Celso "Farpado" Baldow vs. Udi Lima
Jefferson "Jeffinho" Nunes vs. Glauke Eugenio
As stated above, the event will feature some unique rules. Fighters will weigh in the day of the fights, not the day before. There will be a 10-minute first round. And the most interesting difference is that if a fight is close to getting finished at the end of a round (someone is threatening with a submission, or has his opponent hurt with strikes), the round will continue until either a finish comes or the person gets out of danger. Big John McCarthy has been brought in by Rickson to make sure everything runs smoothly.
