Leites Outpoints Horn at Superior Challenge 7
STOCKHOLM -- Saturday’s “Rise of Champions” card decided three belts in a wild night of fights and close decisions at Superior Challenge’s seventh outing, held at Hovet Arena.
In a duel between former UFC title contenders, Thales Leites captured the vacant Superior Challenge middleweight title in a tight and protested decision against Jeremy Horn.
“My strategy was to wait and see his gameplan,” said Leites after the fight.
Horn decided to keep the fight standing in a wait-and-see match, leaving the judges a tight fight to decide.

Cartwheeling Bellator Champ Zach Makovsky says bring on Joe Warren
With three-straight outdoor fights to his Bellator Fighting Championships record, Bellator bantamweight champ Zach Makovsky (13-2 MMA, 5-0 BFC) is no stranger to fighting under the sun.
That said, even "Fun Size" admits the glaring afternoon heat of Yuma, Ariz., had him a bit worried a this past week's Bellator 41 event.
"When I went out to the cage earlier in the day, it was really hot," Makovsky recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "If I sat in one place on the canvas, my feet were kind of burning. I was a little nervous, but the temperature went down by the time the fight started, and it was really enjoyable."
Joe Warren on controversial Bellator 41 win: "I have to leave it up to the judges"
If you have a problem with Joe Warren's controversial victory over Marcos Galvao at this past weekend's Bellator 41 event, take your complaints elsewhere.
Sure, he knows many fans are up in arms over the judges' controversial decision.
But at this point, it's out of his hands, and he'd rather focus on the positives of his performance.
Warren, a season-two tournament winner who defeated then-champ Joe Soto with his guaranteed title shot in September, topped Galvao via 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 scores.
Following questionable loss, Marcos Galvao granted Bellator tourney spot
There is a silver lining to the highly controversial decision loss Marcos Galvao suffered to Joe Warren this past Saturday at Bellator 41. And it's more work.
The Brazilian bantamweight has secured a spot in the promotion's next 135-pound tournament, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
If all goes well for Galvao in the tournament, Rebney said, a rematch with Warren is an "absolute consideration" down the line.

That marks a 39 percent ratings drop from Bellator 40. It's also 18,000 fewer viewers than Bellator 37, which previously held the season low with an audience of 150,000.
The April 16 event took place at Cocopah Resort and Casino in Yuma, Ariz.
Source: Buentello Injured, Konrad Bout Off at Bellator 42
Paul Buentello has suffered a back injury and will not compete against Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad on Saturday as originally anticipated.
According to a source close to the event, the bout will likely be rescheduled for a later date in 2011, once the UFC veteran's injury has healed. MMAJunkie.com first reported the change.
Bellator 42 goes down April 23 from the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, Okla., and will air live on MTV2. Though the non-title superfight has been lost for the time being, the televised card will feature the Bellator debut of highly-regarded British featherweight Ronnie Mann as he squares off with Josh Arocho.
Judges Try To F*ck Up Bellator 41, Fighters Do Work
Well kids, it’s another lazy Sunday, and another look back on Bellator’s last card, conceived and executed for maximum entertainment. Bjorn Rebney and company pour their hearts and souls into each season, and if something goes wrong, there’s only one party to blame: the terrorists. Bellator 41 popped off under the desert sun in Yuma, Arizona yesterday, and we’re tempted to call this a mistake — an outdoor event in the harsh late afternoon sun, where it’s 99 degrees in April? Sure, it sounds harsh and perhaps cruel to the fighters who spent Thursday and Friday purging any spare liquids out of their bodies, but anyone believing that just can’t grasp the next-level meta-thinking that goes on inside Bellator HQ. There’s a higher purpose here, and we’re just too pedestrian in our thinking to follow it.

And, rounding out the nights stacked card is a Lightweight Tournament Championship fight between Brazilian Knockout artist Patricky Pitbull and undefeated NCAA Champion Mike Chandler.
"Good vs. Hornbuckle is a fight a lot of MMA fans, myself included, have wanted to see for quite some time," said Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. "These two guys have Bellator in their blood, and on May 14th one will move into our next Tournament and one will go home. This promises to be a great fight on May 14th at Caesars."
