Rick Glenn has withdrawn from his World Series of Fighting featherweight title bout against Georgi Karakhanyan on Dec. 7.
WSOF officials recently informed Sherdog.com of the news, although reasons for Glenn’s withdrawal were undisclosed. Promotion officials hope to find a new opponent for Karkhanyan in the coming weeks.
World Series of Fighting will hold its first women’s fight sometime in the near future.
The promotion announced on Monday via Twitter that it has signed Bellator veteran Jessica Aguilar. The deal was first reported by MMAFighting.com. Aguilar’s WSOF debut is expected to come early in 2014 against an as-yet-undetermined opponent.
WSOF is planning to continue its international expansion with a fight card in New Zealand in April of 2014, MMAWeekly.com learned on Tuesday.
WSOF president Ray Sefo said that the deal is constructed and the company is in its final stages before announcing the New Zealand card.
