Joe Stevenson Signs Multi-fight Deal with Resurrection Fighting Alliance
(mmavalor.com)
Mixed Martial Arts veteran and Ultimate Fighter season 2 winner Joe “Daddy” Stevenson had signed a multi-fight deal with the upstart MMA promotion Resurrection Fighting Alliance. The Nebraska based promotion will be hosting their second fight card on March 30th from the Viaero Event Center in Kearney. Stevenson hasn’t fought since losing to Javier Vazquez at UFC Live last June. “We are very excited to have him (Joe Stevenson), as he brings a never say die in your face approach to MMA that the fans love. DAVID BRANCH OUT, MARIO MIRANDA IN AGAINST JAN BLACHOWICZ AT KSW 18
(sherdog.com)
Polish promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) has announced a major change to its upcoming Feb. 25 event, as David Branch has been forced to withdraw from his light heavyweight bout against Jan Blachowicz at KSW 18 due to passport issues. Instead, the former KSW champion will face a different UFC veteran, Mario Miranda, Saturday at the Orlen Arena in Plock, Poland. A four-time UFC competitor, Miranda posted a perfect 9-0 record before receiving his Octagon call. The native Brazilian was knocked out in his UFC debut, falling in the first round to Gerald Harris at UFC Fight Night 21 in 2010. Though Miranda rebounded with a victory over David Loiseau, he would receive his walking papers following consecutive losses to Demian Maia and Aaron Simpson. Since his departure from the UFC, the Washingtonian has posted a trio of wins, most recently submitting Dmitry Samoilov at M-1 Challenge 29 on Nov. 19.

Babalu’ Sobral To Face Steve Bosse This May At “Instinct MMA 4?
(themmanews.com)
Press Release – MONTREAL (QUEBEC) February 16th, 2012 – The moment MMA fans have been waiting for is just months away as bout agreements were signed earlier this week for the long anticipated return to the cage of one of the country’s most popular fighters, STEVE “THE BOSS” BOSSE (9-1; 7 KO, 1 SUB). However, there will be no tune-up fight as part of this comeback as Bosse will be stepping into the cage with former world champion RENATO “BABALU” SOBRAL (36-9; 9 KO, 14 SUB) in the main event of Instinct 4 this May in Montreal. We last saw Bosse in action last October as he sent world-renowned striker Houston Alexander crashing to the mat with a vicious elbow to the head, securing a knockout victory in the main event of Instinct 1. It was without a doubt the greatest night of his career, but the win came with a hefty price: a broken hand that would keep him out of action for over 6 months, halting his momentum. With surgery and therapy behind him, “The Boss” is now ready to return home to the cage. Bosse is a fan favorite who never backs down and he knew that in order to continue his climb up the world rankings, there was only one way to go about it: put his incredible 7-fight win streak on the line against the best light heavyweight available. His request was fulfilled as Brazilian Renato Sobral jumped at the opportunity to come to Canada for this fight.

Asian MMA Update: Phil Baroni To Serve As Color Commentator On Sapp vs. Thompson, ROAD FC 6 Fight Videos
(bloodyelbow.com)
Remember Super Fight League, that show in India to be headlined by Bob Sapp vs. James Thompson? They're promising to be a different mix of spectacle and sport, and while one would think that they've already accomplished that with their headliner, it looks like there's a lot more planned for the event. MMA isn't as popular in India as it is on other Asian countries, but the show, which will be run by millionaire tycoon Raj Kundra, actor Sanjay Dutt, and MMA agent Ken Pavia, will have different ways to gather in the crowd. They will have eight fights, but to start the show, they'll be having concerts from popular musicians in India to draw the crowd in. Another strategy they're taking is to have celebrities, personalities and popular fighters on the event. One of those personalities, as BloodyElbow.com has learned through sources close to the situation, is the "New York Bad Ass" Phil Baroni, who will be returning to the commentator's booth and will be calling the action for the March 11 event.
