Jorge Patino vs. Luis Palomino slated for WSOF 8 in Miami
Jorge Patino vs. Jose Landi-Jons is signed for the World Series of Fighting’s first trip to Brazil in 2014, but "Macaco" has another bout before he faces his long-time rival.
WSOF’s executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz told MMAFighting.com that Patino is set to make his promotional debut on Jan. 18 in Miami, Fla., when he takes on Luis Palomino.

2013 Women’s Mixed Martial Arts Awards Nominees
Voting is now underway for the 2013 Women’s Mixed Martial Arts Awards. This year’s edition again features more than a dozen categories. These awards
recognize notable achievements made by fighters, promotions and other individuals associated with the sport over the course of the past year.
Members of nine different mixed martial arts publications compiled the list of nominations for this year’s awards. A full list of categories and nominees, as well
as fight videos for best fight, knockout and submission, is available below. Winners in each category will be announced at the end of December.
Ryan Ford vs. Joel Powell Announced for WSOF Canada Inaugural Welterweight Championship
The World Series of Fighting will establish their Inaugural Welterweight Champion for their Canadian expansion (WSOF Canada) in February, as Ryan Ford takes on Joel Powell for the belt. If you’re confused or wondering about Steve Carl (the reigning WSOF welterweight champ), let us clear the air. President Ray Sefo intends on establishing national champions from each country included in the organization’s international expansion campaign.

Ford trains at Montreal’s legendary Tristar gym alongside Canada’s most elite mixed martial artists such as Georges St-Pierre, Rory MacDonald, Francis Carmont, and others. Ford went undefeated (2-0) in Bellator in 2012, and will be fighting for the 170 pound title in his WSOF Canada debut.
