Vinny Magalhaes nixes retirement plans, meets Jeff Monson in November
Vinny Magalhaes has decided against retirement after all.
Magalhaes (10-7, 1 NC) has agreed to meet Jeff Monson (49-15-1) in a heavyweight bout on Nov. 9 in Hawaii, the fighter confirmed with MMAFighting.com. The fight will be a part of the Global Warrior Challenge 2: USA vs. Brazil event.
"I never really thought of retiring," he said. "I made those comments within 24 hours after I had lost a fight, so I was still a little frustrated, and I was being too emotional with my responses. That's why I haven't said a thing since. I needed to clear my mind before starting to speak about my next moves."

WSOF draws its biggest ratings on Saturday night
Saturday night's World Series of Fighting show on NBC Sports, headlined by Tyrone Spong's decision win over Angel DeAnda, did the company's best numbers to date with a 0.23 rating and 264,000 viewers.
The show, from Ontario, Calif., also pulled an 0.18 in the 18-49 demo and an 0.30 in Males 18-49.
