Rick Story Explains Taking UFC on Versus 4 Fight With Nate Marquardt
Fresh off his win over top contender Thiago Alves at UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill, Story took a couple days to rest, went back into training, and jumped at the opportunity to get right back into preparing for a fight by accepting a bout with former middleweight title contender Nate Marquardt. The bout will take place at UFC on Versus 4 on June 26. Accepting a fight against top competition usually entails several weeks of training camp leading into the bout. Story, however, embraces jumping right into another marquee fight after having earned the biggest win of his career.

Strikeforce adds Coenen-Tate, Gracie-Lawal; Souza-Rockhold announced prematurely
Showtime officials today announced a pair of new contests for July's "Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson" event, as women's welterweight champion Marloes Coenen meets top contender Miesha Tate, and Roger Gracie faces Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal in a light heavyweight affair. Both fights take place on the evening's main card. However, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned that a third bout announced today, a middleweight title fight between Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Luke Rockhold, was announced prematurely and will likely take place at a later date.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale winner Clay Guida: "Wrestling wins championships"
LAS VEGAS – UFC lightweight contender Clay Guida's grappling-heavy victory over Anthony Pettis (13-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) may have done little to wow some fans, but "The Carpenter" doesn't regret the strategy. Sure, he would have liked to finish the fight just as much as Spike TV-viewers probably hoped to witness such a result in the co-feature of Saturday night's The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale event, but it simply didn't happen. Nevertheless, Guida (29-11 MMA, 9-5 UFC) never thought once about straying from his wrestling-based approach. After all, Guida is simply following a blueprint established by countless others – control the position, control the fight.

Despite losing title shot, TUF 13 Finale's Anthony Pettis finds a silver lining
Those around him may lament the loss of a promised title shot, but Anthony Pettis refuses to dwell on the what-ifs. The final WEC lightweight champion and would-be top UFC contender opted to take a fight with Clay Guida rather than wait on the sidelines for a shot at the gold. Guida derailed Pettis' momentum with a grinder-like performance at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale on Saturday. But Pettis isn't a regretful guy.

Tony Ferguson Hopes to Change Fans' Perception at TUF Finale
LAS VEGAS – Every season of "The Ultimate Fighter" has a villain. After the season, that villain usually wants to let the world know that he's not really a villain, he just plays one – or is portrayed as one through editing – on TV. Tony Ferguson is the Season 13 villain, and on Thursday, two days ahead of his fight in the finale against Ramsey Nijem, he said he's looking forward to making amends for his actions late in the season, when he was shown commenting about housemate Charlie Rader's family situation, setting off this season's biggest house brouhaha.

Despite broken leg, UFC's Demetrious Johnson expects a speedy return
Early in the second round of his recent UFC 130 fight with Miguel Torres, Demetrious Johnson threw a hard kick that was checked by his opponent. He instantly knew something was wrong but persevered and ultimately got a close decision victory. But after returning to his day job and watching his limb massively swell, he went to the doctor earlier this week and got the bad news: It's broken.

Anthony Johnson out, Rick Story steps in to face Nate Marquardt at UFC on Versus 4
"Rumble" will have to wait a little bit longer to headline his first UFC event. The pair now meets in the main event of "UFC on Versus 4: Marquardt vs. Story," which takes place June 26 at Pittsburgh's Consol Energy Center. The night's main card airs on Versus.

UFC Quick Quote: Jorge Santiago thought Brian Stann would be an easy fight
Easy does it for middleweight masher Jorge Santiago, who tells Tatame.com that his performance against Brian Stann at this past weekend's UFC 130: "Rampage vs. Hamill" event on May 28 in Las Vegas can be attributed to a lackadaisical attitude toward the match-up. "Sandman" thought he could sink "All American" quickly but was instead felled in the second round via brutal knockout after eating quite a few big shots from the former Marine. Nick Diaz contract with Zuffa details and what it means for Georges St. Pierre fight, UFC and Strikeforce
Nick Diaz will be challenging Georges St. Pierre for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 137 on Oct. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. That much we know. There are still many questions, however, regarding how exactly this superfight came to be, especially considering all the misinformation bandied about in recent days.

Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz set for UFC 137 in Las Vegas
The hurdles have apparently been cleared. Despite his recent insistence that a bout between current UFC champion Georges St-Pierre (22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC) and Strikeforce title holder Nick Diaz (25-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) was anything but a done deal, UFC president Dana White today announced the two welterweights will clash in the main event of the previously unannounced UFC 137 event. Edit: Diaz's manager, Cesar Gracie, did tell USA Today that the St-Pierre fight is part of a new eight-fight contract for Diaz that allows the current Strikeforce champ to compete in both Strikeforce and the UFC

No Fitch? No problem. Rick Story just wants to fight the UFC's best
Following his UFC 130 win over Thiago Alves this past Saturday night, UFC welterweight Rick Story (13-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) expressed his desire for a bout with perennial contender Jon Fitch. Fitch subsequently claimed he wasn't interested in a fight with Story, citing potential bouts with B.J. Penn or Georges St-Pierre as the only contests the appeared truly interesting. That's just fine, Story today told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). Fitch might be out of commission too long, anyway. Story has hie eyes on the title, and he wants to stay busy on his way to the top.

Despite initial frustration, White says Mir's UFC 130 performance admirable
LAS VEGAS – On Saturday night, UFC president Dana White said he was frustrated that former heavyweight champion Frank Mir didn't perform up to par in the co-main event of UFC 130. On Sunday morning, White admitted he may have gone a bit overboard. Speaking exclusively with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), White said in retrospect, Mir and his team actually put together a perfect gameplan, which the heavyweight executed to perfection. Sure, a finish would have been ideal, but current top contender Junior Dos Santos couldn't put away "Big Country," either.

The first betting line has been released for a future UFC light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, and it seems that the current champion is a heavy favorite out of the gate. Jorge and Zoila Gurgel enjoying married life, eyeing MMA greatness
In mixed martial arts, it's almost a job requirement for fighters to spend countless hours away from their families, and in some cases depart their homes in order to seek the proper instruction needed to be successful. But Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Jorge Gurgel (14-7) and his wife Zoila (11-1) no longer have to seek out guidance, as they now have each other. Earlier this year, the pair exchanged vows in a private ceremony, and Jorge recently told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) he's happier than ever.

Roy Nelson To Meet With Dana White Later This Week; Nutritionist Mike Dolce Interested In Working Him
Roy Nelson obviously didn’t have the fight he was hoping for at UFC 130 against Frank Mir, losing by unanimous decision in the co-main event of the night. Nelson struggled to deal with Mir’s size and power, as well as his wrestling, and by the third round the former “Ultimate Fighter” winner was noticeably gassed, but toughed it out until the fight was over. The fight left a lot to be desired in the mind of UFC president Dana White, who seemed fairly unimpressed with both Nelson and Mir.

Thiago Alves’ UFC 130 Message to Rick Story: “Be Careful What You Wish For”
Thiago Alves has never been in the business of calling other fighters out. Sure, he’s asked for a title shot like any top ranked welterweight, but the Brazilian doesn’t believe in calling out anybody for a fight, he just fights the best in the world and whoever the UFC puts in the cage with him. So it was a little surprising to Alves when he heard that Rick Story was calling him out for a fight. Sure, Story has gone 5-1 in the UFC, and is on the rise in the welterweight division, so in many ways Alves took the statement as a compliment.
