Kawajiri Possibly Returning To K-1
Coming off a win at DREAM 9 that has earned him a Lightweight title shot, Tatsuya Kawajiri may be headed back to K-1 for a second fight. Although not yet official, the plan is to have "Crusher" face K-1 star Masato in a Superfight on July 13 as part of the K-1 World Max 2009 Tournament Final 8 event. The K-1 vs. MMA concept was very popular with fans in Japan and parent company FEG liked the concept.

Jose Canseco loses MMA debut
to not surprise, Canseco lost his MMA debut in Japan to Hong Man Choi. To sum it up, steroid head Canseco threw some silly punches and kicks until he knocked himself off balance and fell to the ground. Choi then jumped on him and started some G n P punching forcing Canseco to tap out due to fear at 76 seconds into the 1st round I would like to see Canseco vs Fedor or someone who can just play with him and then literally knock his head off with 1 hit, or Cro Cop leg kick to shut Canseco up forever...but those guys are too good to even contemplate a fight with Canseco (DC Edit: Made link working link. Please read the guidelines for posting news items before posting, thanks)

Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza: The DREAM middleweight title is coming home to Brazil
“I beat [Jason Miller] the first time, but I wasn’t satisfied with the result. This time I want to make a better fight. Impose my game and impose my rhythm. The most important thing to me is to put on a good fight. This time it’s for the belt. It’s going to come to Brazil. I’ve been training really hard since November. I had to stop last month to make sure I didn’t overtrain. I’m ready. If the fight were tomorrow, I’d be ready.”

Sean Sherk Would Like To See Shinya Aoki Take Off His (Stretchy) Pants
UFC Lightweight Sean Sherk thinks ranking systems like BloodyElbow's and others that rank fighters like Kenny Florian and Shinya Aoki ahead of him make no sense. As for Aoki, Sherk says he's got no boxing, no wrestling, nothing except those pants. So Sherk would like to see Aoki and others like him in UFC, where he can't wear the pants.

Nortje: "Sokoudjou is Messing With the Real HWs now"
Sokoudjou stunned the MMA world by knocking out Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ricardo Arona but coming into this bout the fight favors you standing up and he has the advantage on the ground. Who are you training with at the moment to help you if the fight does hit the mat? Nick Feketi was the silver medalist in the 2008 Olympics in heavyweight wrestling, he is helping me. Randy has some input as well and the gym is full of excellent wrestlers that also help so if we go to ground I should be good. Full interview

Bob Sapp, Jan Nortje, and Jose Canseco added to Dream 9.
Only in Japan folks. Dream seems to have completed their line up for Dream 9, which is just a few weeks away on May 26th, and there are some peculiar additions, to say the least.
