M-1 Standout Lucio Linhares Signs With UFC, Faces Rousimar Palhares in December

K-1 exploring India as potential breeding ground for next generation fighters
At age 21, Singh “Heart” Jaideep became the youngest fighter to qualify for the K-1 World Grand Prix (WGP). He unfortunately did not endear himself to the fans with the lackluster, five-round snoozefest against Ewerton Teixeira at Olympic Park in Seoul, Korea. Unless he can stage an impressive comeback, he will not linger in the collective memory of the K-1 world for too long. Nevertheless, his participation in the WGP bears the mark of an important milestone — given his ethnicity/nationality.

"Roy Nelson and Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson are the two biggest names on The Ultimate Fighter 10, and on the next episode the two square off in an elimination bout. While several contestants were licking their chops at the opportunity to fight "Kimbo," Nelson wasn't one of them. Coach Quinton "Rampage" Jackson picked the first two match ups on the show and Rashad Evans' team won both of them. When Evans got the chance to play match maker, he immediately put his most seasoned fighter against Jackson's most known. Nelson spoke with MMAWeekly.com about how the bout with "Kimbo" was made."

UFC Quick Quote: What is Randy Couture going to do with Brandon Vera?
“My whole thing is, I kick people in the face, I knee people in the face, I can submit people. Now, if I can go to the southpaw stance, and I’m knocking people out from the southpaw stance, people are gonna be like, ‘oh my God, now what am I gonna do with Vera?’… I’m letting everything go with Mr. Couture. You’ve got to. You can’t hold back with Randy. I’m gonna pull out every trick, everything I know…. Randy’s a master tactician. If he were in the Army, he’d probably be one of the best generals in the world. He’s the master planner. I’m excited. The nerves aren’t hitting yet…. It’s a big deal if you make it a big deal. For me, it’s more about the fight. I’m fighting Randy Couture. It doesn’t matter if it’s televised, not televised, main event, or a dark match. It’s not where I’m at on the card, it’s who I’m fighting. I don’t think there could be anything more exciting than the match itself.” – Light heavyweight Brandon Vera talks to MMAWeekly.com about his upcoming fight against mixed martial arts legend and former division champion, Randy Couture, in the UFC 105 main event from the Manchester Evening News (MEN) Arena in Manchester, England, on Nov. 14.

Greg Jackson: Rashad wants Machida rematch as soon as possible
Rashad Evans will be fully prepared if ends up facing Lyoto Machida in the Octagon again, says his trainer Greg Jackson. Evans lost the UFC light-heavyweight belt to Machida in May this year and was KO’d in the process, but Jackson would like a second crack at him in the near future. “I would love to get a rematch with Machida as soon as possible. Of course nobody will agree with me, but I am an optimist,” Jackson told Fighters Only.

Interview with Roger Huerta
"Lightweight Roger Huerta is in Austin, Tex., spending time with his family and healing up from his fight with Gray Maynard at UFC Fight Night 19. MMAWeekly caught up with him recently to discuss his future plans. MMAWeekly: Were you happy with the fight last week? Huerta: I was really happy with my performance. I think I’ve improved a lot, dramatically, where I don’t fight too wild. I was really focused on Gray and what he does good, which is obviously his wrestling and his striking. I felt that the fight could have gone the either way, but then again, it’s my fault for not finishing when I had chances and letting it go that far."

Kennedy Bombs Cummings at ‘Challengers’
"Tim Kennedy walked right through Zak Cummings and his undefeated record in the Strikeforce “Challengers Series 3” main event on Friday at the SpiritBank Event Center in Tulsa, Okla. A United States Army Special Forces veteran, Kennedy mauled Cummings from the start, pounded him mercilessly throughout a lopsided opening round and moved in for the kill. Ultimately, he locked in a fight-ending North-South choke for the finish 2:43 into round two, as the International Fight League and World Extreme Cagefighting veteran posted his 11th win in 12 fights. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson provides answers to his fans
“I’m addressing the fans only here, I think I owe them an explanation. Yeah I feel the things I said (in my blog) are true and yeah, I don’t like Rashad Evans because of the type of person he is. He talks smack and he tries to turn around on how it’s me that’s the one who’s talking smack and not him. At first I really wanted this fight to get my belt back but since doing “The Ultimate Fighter” show and six weeks of him talking the way he’s talking and him just being the way he is, yeah it makes me wanna fight Rashad, especially after he said he’d punch me in the face for free. I’m having none of that either.”
