Invicta FC Champ Cris ‘Cyborg’ Seeking Spot on UFC 198 Card in Brazil
(sherdog.com)

In a recent post on her website, “Cyborg” makes her case to be included on the upcoming UFC 198 card in Curitiba, Brazil on May 14. “It has been almost 10 years since I last fought in my home country of Brazil. I am very lucky that over the last decade my Brazilian fans have continued to support me and my career as I chased my dreams as a world champion, while living and competing in America,” Justino wrote.

Cain Velasquez undergoes successful surgery, eyes summer return
(mmafighting.com)
Former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is making progress from his latest setback. MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani reported on Wednesday's edition of UFC Tonight that Velasquez recently underwent back surgery. Sources say the procedure went well and he's got an eye on his return to the Octagon. While Velasquez (13-2) has been a killer in the Octagon over the course of his career, the American Kickboxing Academy standout has been known as much for his injury woes as for his success in the cage. The 33-year-old has endured long absences due to shoulder and knee woes before having to pull out of a planned Feb. 6 rematch with current champion Fabricio Werdum due to back issues.

Conor McGregor says welterweight title fight is top choice next: 'I would beat Robbie' Lawler
(mmafighting.com)
Conor McGregor will be fighting at 170 pounds against Nate Diaz on Saturday at UFC 196. His next fight could very well be at the same weight -- for the belt. "That's there," McGregor said Wednesday at open workouts here at MGM Grand. "I mean, why not? That's probably the leading option." That means McGregor challenging Robbie Lawler for the welterweight title could very well happen at UFC 200 in July. And "The Notorious" said he would be very confident if that came together.

Coach: Anderson Silva thought he cracked repaired leg in first round
(mmafighting.com)
Anderson Silva lost to Michael Bisping via unanimous decision at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 84 in London, but his coach Luiz Dorea believes the former middleweight champion beat "The Count" by knockout and decision. Dorea, who cornered Silva in the 25-minute contest at the O2 Arena, revealed to MMAFighting.com "The Spider" suffered an injury early in the fight. Even with the injury in the same leg Silva fractured in his rematch with Chris Weidman in 2013, Dorea thinks he did enough to win. "He felt a kick he landed in the first round, thought he cracked his leg and a screw moved," Dorea said. "That limited his movements, made him stop attacking for a moment. I asked him to attack, but he said ‘professor, I’m feeling it, I have no confidence’. I said ‘use your heart, you’re Anderson Silva, go after him’. That slowed him down a bit. Bisping attacked more, but less effectively. Anderson was more effective. I hope the commission reviews this result because this is bad for the sport. Even Dana White saw that way. Everybody knows who won the fight." Despite the pain, Silva is apparently out of danger. "Silva did some exams after the fight. He suffered an injury, but the screw didn’t move," he added. "I don’t know how bad the injury was, but I know the screw didn’t move and he won’t need a surgery. He was in pain in the locker room, but he won’t need surgery. He was in pain, he couldn’t even put his shoes on, but he’s fine now."

UFC Fight Night 84 bonuses: Michael Bisping, Anderson Silva take Fight of the Night
(mmafighting.com)
If you put on a frantic main event filled with twists and turns, stops and starts, and dramatic action, you're probably going to walk away with some extra money at the end of the night. Such was the case for Michael Bisping and Anderson Silva on Saturday night. While there was much dispute over whether Bisping deserved the 48-47, across-the-board decision at UFC Fight Night 84 in London's O2 Arena, there was little dispute it was the night's best fight. Bisping and Silva will each take home an extra $50,000 U.S. for their efforts.
