Junior dos Santos wants three fights in 2016
Junior dos Santos is anxious to get back in the Octagon.
After a disappointing KO loss to Alistair Overeem last December, the former UFC heavyweight champion revealed to Portal do Vale Tudo that he wanted a quick return to erase his last performance.
"After my last fight, I told Joe Silva I wanted to fight again soon and I was glad they were able to get me a fight quickly. I think it's important to fight more frequently so I can stay active. Rothwell is a very hard opponent, who is on a good win streak and has been imposing himself. He showed he can be very effective, especially in his last fight, when he submitted Josh Barnett, which was kind of unexpected."
As far as Dos Santos is concerned, a win over his next opponent, Ben Rothwell, puts him right back in title contention.

Fighter turned judge Ricardo Almeida discusses avoiding conflicts of interest
For years, fans and fighters have clamored for those who have competed in the cage to be the ones handing in the official scorecards. However, fighters and coaches make many contacts over the course of their careers, and that leaves the door open to myriad potential conflicts of interest.
As a former King of Pancrase and successful competitor in the UFC, Almeida is probably the most high-profile fighter to end up at the judging table, and he told MMAjunkie that the procedures are in place in New Jersey to minimize the impact of those conflicts.
Coach: Claudia Gadelha and Joanna Jedrzejczyk on TUF could be ‘worse’ than Aldo-McGregor
RIO DE JANEIRO -- Claudia Gadelha and Joanna Jedrzejczyk will coach the 23rd season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), and Nova Uniao leader Andre Pederneiras expects it to be a rough coexistence.
Gadelha rematches Jedrzejczyk for the strawweight belt at the TUF 23 Finale event on July 8, but first they will have to see each other every single day during the reality show. Coming from a wearing year in 2015 with the promotion for Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor, Pederneiras believes Gadelha and Jedrzejczyk living together has everything to be worse than Aldo and McGregor during the UFC 189 world tour.
"I believe it can be worse because it’s 45 days," Pederneiras said. "You will see someone you don’t want to see for 45 days, twice a day. It won’t be good. It’s going to be horrible. Horrible. They both have strong temper, so it can’t be good. It’s going to be perfect media-wise, but won’t be good for them. I don’t think they will end up fighting during the reality show, but we will get a lot of mess."
Alexander Gustafsson having a 'tough time' with motivation, still vows to fight in 2016
In the last three years, Alexander Gustafsson has lost razor-close decisions in title fights to both Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, and he's been knocked out in the first round by Anthony Johnson in front of more than 40,000 of his hometown fans.
Gustafsson remains one of the very best light heavyweight fighters on the planet. But those losses seem to have done something to his psyche. Recently, he moved down to San Diego to train with Alliance MMA, a team he has worked with for multiple camps. The goal for the Swedish star is to get his mind right.
"I'm just feeling like I have a tough time with my motivation," Gustafsson told Ariel Helwani on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour. "It goes from time to time. Some days it's better, some days it's a little bit worse."
Thatch Not Cleared to Fight in Pennsylvania, Bout vs. Bahadurzada Moved to UFC 196
A welterweight matchup between Brandon Thatch and Siyar Bahadurzada has been moved from UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh to UFC 196.
The change comes as a result of Thatch being unable to receive clearance to fight from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission for using a “medication permitted under the UFC/USADA, WADA and Nevada State Athletic Commission anti-doping rules,” according to a statement released by the Las Vegas-based promotion on Friday night. The medication Thatch was using was not specified.
