Fresh off sweep, Team Alpha Male's Duane Ludwig enjoying life more as trainer than fighter
(mmafighting.com)
It should have been a given that Duane Ludwig would get quick results. His nickname, after all, is "Bang," a moniker he earned even before his record-setting, six-second knockout in 2006. As a trainer, he's made immediate strides with his new camp, the Sacramento, California-based Team Alpha Male. Hired in December 2012, Ludwig recently went through the process of training several charges for the first full camp, including a trio that prepared for fights at last weekend's UFC on FOX 7. Signal to Noise: UFC on FOX 7's best and worst
(mmafighting.com)
There was much to love about UFC on FOX 7. The card itself delivered in almost every way possible. The less than meaningful UFC vs. Strikeforce rivalry was nevertheless fun to hang onto. The San Jose crowd maybe booed a bit much, but still showed up to watch. The FOX production of UFC events continues to elevate the entire affair. And yet, there was also enough to dislike. It'd also be swell if the California State Athletic Commission didn't think it was a swell idea for a Cesar Gracie affiliate instructor to judge a bout where a Cesar Gracie-affiliated fighter is competing. It's time to separate the winners from the losers, the best from the worst, and the signal from the noise...

Heading into his UFC 159 main event on Saturday night in which he faces Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title, Sonnen is still taking shots at his conqueror. On Monday's media teleconference promoting the event, Sonnen went out of his way to say he considered Jones a better fighter than Silva, the man most consider the world's best pound-for-pound fighter...
