Chan Sung Jung, a WEC veteran and one-time UFC title challenger affectionately nicknamed "The Korean Zombie," announced Tuesday on Facebook that after more than three years away from mixed martial arts, he is officially gearing up for his reintroduction to the Octagon. He also already has a big-name opponent in mind for his comeback.

A potential welterweight slugfest has been added to the UFC’s year-end card in Las Vegas. Tim Means (26-7-1 MMA, 8-4 UFC) is set to take on Alex Oliveira (16-3-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) at UFC 207. A UFC official confirmed the booking to MMAjunkie following an initial report from The Albuquerque (N.M.) Journal. UFC 207 takes place Dec. 30, a Friday, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. In the main event, former champion Ronda Rousey will make her long-awaited return to take on new women’s bantamweight titleholder Amanda Nunes.

Two fights added to UFC on FOX 22, including Team Alpha Male's Josh Emmett

The UFC’s final FOX event of the year is taking shape, and the promotion today announced two additional contests for the card. The new bouts includes a lightweight bout between hometown fighter Josh Emmett against fellow prospect Scott Holtzman, as well as a welterweight matchup between Russia’s Sultan Aliev and Serbia’s Bojan Velickovic.

UFC vet Niklas Backstrom meets Brian Moore under BAMMA banner at Bellator 169 in Dublin

Bellator’s December debut in Ireland, a co-promotion, has a pair of new BAMMA bouts set for the lineup. UFC veteran Niklas Backstrom (10-2) will take on Ireland’s own Brian Moore (9-4) in a featherweight fight, and Ireland’s Kiefer Crosbie (1-0) will meet England’s Conor Riordan (0-0) at welterweight. Both fights will be part of BAMMA 27, which is happening on the same bill as Bellator 169. Bellator 169, the joint venture with BAMMA 27, takes place Dec. 16 at 3Arena in Dublin. The main card airs on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie. In the main event, Muhammed Lawal meets Satoshi Ishii in a heavyweight fight.

Brandon Thatch vs. Sabah Homasi headed for year-end UFC 207 card in Las Vegas

The UFC’s year-end pay-per-view in Las Vegas continues to grow with the addition of a welterweight bout to the lineup. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Sabah Homasi (11-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is set to take on Brandon Thatch (11-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) in December at UFC 207. UFC officials have not yet made a formal announcement of the booking.

Matt Brown vs. Tarec Saffiedine targeted for UFC 207

Matt Brown vs. Tarec Saffiedine is close to being added to UFC 207 on Dec. 30, MMA Fighting has learned. The welterweight fight has yet to be officially announced by the promotion. Brown (20-15) will be looking to snap a two-fight losing streak. He most recently lost to Jake Ellenberger at UFC 201 in July. Saffiedine (16-5) has lost two of his last three UFC fights. His dropped a unanimous decision to Ricky Story in May. UFC 207, headlined by Amanda Nunes vs. Ronda Rousey for the UFC women's bantamweight title, will take place in Las Vegas.

Josh Samman’s official cause of death listed as probable drug overdose

Josh Samman's death has been ruled a probable drug overdose by the local coroner. Broward County chief medical examiner Craig Mallak said Tuesday that even though there was no toxicology report done on Samman, circumstances have led him to believe that the late UFC fighter died from a probable drug overdose. TMZ was the first to report the news. Samman died Oct. 5 after being in a coma for about five days. He was 28 years old.

MMAjunkie today confirmed that Seo Hee Ham (16-7 MMA, 1-2 UFC) vs. Danielle Taylor (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will take place at UFC Fight Night 101, following an initial report from Fight News Australia.

Jordan Mein vs. Emil Meek targeted for UFC 206

Another fight is close to being added to UFC 206. Jordan Mein (26-10) vs. Emil Meek (8-2-1, 1 NC) is currently slated to be on the Dec. 10 card in Toronto, MMA Fighting has learned. The promotion has yet to officially announce the fight. The fight will mark Mein's first since deciding to retire from MMA last year. The Canadian-born Mein, who announced his return in September, made his MMA debut in 2006 as a 16-year-old. He hasn't fought since Jan. 2015.

UFC says Georges St-Pierre is still under Zuffa contract

It doesn't seem like this will be a clean break. In a statement sent out Monday, the UFC said the former welterweight champion remains under contract and implied there could be a legal battle in the near future. "Georges St-Pierre remains under an existing agreement with Zuffa, LLC as his MMA promoter," the statement read. "Zuffa intends to honor its agreement with St-Pierre and reserves its rights under the law to have St-Pierre do the same."

Brazilian MMA athletic commission approves use of instant replay

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) has approved the use of instant replay in MMA bouts, it was announced on Monday. According to the commission, referees will be able to ask for an instant replay to confirm whether or not a foul has occurred in the end of the bout, and determine if the fight should be ruled a no-contest, go to a technical decision, or disqualify an athlete. CABMMA explained that the referee can’t opt to restart the bout after watching the replay.

WSOF 34, WSOF 35 scrapped and merged into year-end card at Madison Square Garden

World Series of Fighting is investing a lot in its first trip to New York. WSOF president Ray Sefo announced on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour that the promotion’s upcoming cards, scheduled for Nov. 12 and Dec. 3, will be scrapped in order to boost the promotion’s show at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 31. WSOF 34 was set to take place at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo., on Nov. 12, and feature a welterweight title bout between Jon Fitch and Jake Shields in the main event. WSOF 35 was scheduled for XFINITY Arena in Everett, Wash.. Fitch vs. Shields will be moved to Dec. 31 and co-headline the show. In the main event, WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje puts his title on the line against Joao Zeferino. The third fight of the main card features bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes, and Sefo said his opponent will be announced later this week. The main card will air on NBC between 4-6 p.m. ET. The preliminary portion of the show, which will be headlined by Yushin Okami vs. Paul Bradley on NBC Sports, will also include two other match-ups and start at 3 p.m. ET, Sefo said. According to Sefo, the fighters originally booked for Nov. 12 and Dec. 3 who won’t compete on Dec. 31 are expected to fight on its following show, which takes place Jan. 20 in Las Vegas.

Cage Warriors owner Graham Boylan announced tonight on the Cage Warriors 79 broadcast that Paddy Pimblett (12-1) will defend his Cage Warriors featherweight strap against Julian Erosa (17-3) and that Cage Warriors lightweight champion Chris Fishgold (15-1-1) will defend his title against Nic Herron-Webb (18-7) on 12th November 2016. The bouts will take place at “CW Unplugged” at the BT Sport studios and will air live on BT Sport. The event will serve as the lead in to UFC 205: Alvarez vs McGregor from Madison Square Garden which will also be shown live on BT Sport.

Despite reports, Vitor Belfort says he's not retiring: 'The Phenom' is back

MMAjunkie today confirmed with “The Phenom” what an Instagram post some took to serve as a retirement announcement was nothing of the sort. “I’m not retired,” Belfort said emphatically. “I want to fight again soon. “I am driven to get back on my feet and honor the nickname I so proudly carry. ‘The Phenom’ is back.”
