Shields' move to middleweight may not be permanent
(mmaweekly.com) Jake Shields officially makes the move to middleweight from the 170-pound weight class where he’s ranked third in the world for a shot at the vacant Strikeforce 185-pound title against Jason “Mayhem” Miller on Nov. 7, but the leap in weight class may not be permanent.
“I just think right now in Strikeforce, they have more names at middleweight, so I decided to stick there,” Shields told MMAWeekly.com. “I’m certainly willing to go 170, but they don’t have any big names to offer me.

Karo Parisyan is going to eat Dustin Hazelett for breakfast
(mmamania.com) “I think it’s a great style for me. It’s a great matchup. I eat Jiu Jitsu guys for breakfast a lot of times. He’s tough and he’s got really good Jiu Jitsu and good standup. He’s a well-rounded fighter, but I have fought 2 and 3-time Jiu Jitsu world champion guys man. And I’m a grappler myself so I really have some surprises for him. I have a tremendous respect for Dustin as an opponent. I don’t know him as a person, but he looks like a nice guy. But like I said, I have been training a lot with tall and lanky guys. I think it is a great matchup due to the fact that I should be able to overpower him, beat on him a little bit and catch him in submissions myself. Dustin is not going to do anything that I’ve never seen before. He’ not going to throw anything my way that I’ve never seen. He’s good off of his back and a good Jiu Jitsu guy, but that’s all he is. I’m a grappler myself, a Judo artist. I have good takedowns and my standup has come a long way, so it’s a very good matchup man. I can’t wait. I can’t wait to get in the cage and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Vitor : I don’t have this ambition of fighting him (Anderson) now, I didn’t get in UFC looking for it, to take his belt
(tatame.com.br) This thing of fighting Anderson is something that I’ve never looked for. I care about him a lot, but started that thing of Dana White talks... I don’t care about fighting for the title, I want to do some more fights. I don’t have this ambition of fighting him (Anderson) now, I didn’t get in UFC looking for it, to take his belt… I never had that thing, I just want to do my work.
I know I deserve, that’s not the problem, neither the discussion, I just like to make some fights. The belt’s moment is gonna come, there are people that want to talk that I don’t deserve, but I don’t believe that. Anderson is not a guy that I want to fight, I support him a lot, we already trained together, I like him a lot. It’s not a thing that I want to... If the belt were on Nate Marquardt’s hands, if I could choose, I wouldn’t fight with Anderson because I care about him.
