New provisions on returning athletes among changes to UFC anti-doping policy
(mmafighting.com)
LAS VEGAS — A retired athlete will now have an increased barrier of entry back into the UFC, but those returning after being released will gain some leniency. A fighter who has retired or left the UFC under his or her own accord will not be able to compete again for the promotion until he or she is entered into the USADA drug-testing pool for six months, per changes to the UFC anti-doping policy made available to MMA Fighting on Thursday. Previously, the rule had been a four-month period in the testing pool before an athlete could return to the Octagon.

UFC Suggesting Fighters and Coaches Purchase Fight Pass Instead of Sending Fight Tapes
(cagepotato.com)
We all know UFC is on the hunt for economy. After the WME-IMG’s 4 billion dollar purchase of the promotion from the Fertitta brothers things have been a bit tight to say the least. We’ve seen a myriad of “big money” fights and interim titles to garner interest in the casual fan. However there are some amenities a professional sports organization MUST provide, and tape of the rival individual/ team the athlete is facing is one of them. In a recent twitter post Brandon Gibson (coach at JacksonWinkMMA) let the social media community know that the UFC will no longer be providing coaches and fighters with fight tape and want fight team to purchase UFC fight pass instead in order to study their opponents.

(mmajunkie.com)
LFA 4 headliner Damon Jackson isn’t the biggest fan of opponent Kevin Aguilar, but in truth, that has very little to do with why “The Leech” wants to punch his foe in the mouth. A recent trip to the maternity center provided Jackson all the motivation he needs. “It’s kind of crazy, but I talked to my wife about it, and we feel pretty comfortable with everything,” Jackson told MMAjunkie. “We have a lot of help, so I’m going to fight.”

However, one of the leading figures in Russian MMA, M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelstein, believes he has discovered a new base – soccer hooliganism. The former manager of Fedor Emelianenko plans to host an event featuring a fight between two fans of rival Russian soccer teams. M-1 Challenge 74 on February 18 in St. Petersburg will feature fights between fans of arch-rival Russian soccer teams, CSKA and Spartak, squaring-off in full team colors.
