Dana White: If victorious, Conor McGregor gets fight at 80,000-seat Croke Park
Conor McGregor’s dream of headlining a stadium show in his native Ireland will apparently come to fruition if the interim featherweight champion successfully unifies the belts at UFC 194. According to UFC President Dana White, a McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) victory over reigning 145-pound champ Jose Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) at UFC 194 will set up his next bout for Dublin’s famed Croke Park stadium, which holds more than 80,000 spectators. “If he beats Jose Aldo in Las Vegas in December, the next fight will be in Croke Park,” White told the NRL Footy Show in Australia. “We told him he could defend his title at Croke Park.” UFC 194, which plays host to Aldo vs. McGregor, takes place Dec. 12 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Cejudo refuses to fight in Nevada after Diaz ban
#FreeNickDiaz is in full effect. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion was suspended for five years by the Nevada Athletic Commission following a failed drug test at UFC 183. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites for the third time in his career, and his hefty suspension has elicited outrage from the MMA community. Fighters have rallied for support of the Californian on Twitter, and one fan even filed a petition to the White House to uplift Diaz's ban. Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo has taken things a step further, as the undefeated flyweight prospect has refused to fight in Nevada, according to his manager, Bill McFarlane.

Josh Thomson might be retired right now if not for Scott Coker's Bellator vision
Thomson was only making $5,000 per fight in sponsorship money with the Reebok tiered, tenure structure. He said that three sponsors alone are paying him more than $35,000 for his Bellator debut and there are more to come. Thomson also said he was making up to $90,000 in sponsors per fight during his run as one of the best lightweights in the UFC and Strikeforce. "I had no intentions of testing the waters in the free-market until I heard that we were about to lock down a sponsorship deal," Thomson said. "They took away our sponsors. That was the only deal."

The List: The champ with the toughest competition ahead
Steven Marrocco (@MMAjunkieSteven): Admittedly, my selection would’ve looked a lot better in late 2013, when newly minted champ Chris Weidman (13-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) was staring down the barrel of a rematch with the more serious, scary Anderson Silva. Since “The Spider” snapped (in more ways than one), the 31-year-old New Yorker has done a pretty good job of answering all the competitive questions asked of him. He finally put down the young dinosaur Vitor Belfort. But there are still some scary dudes ahead...

Liam McGeary doesn't blame Tito Ortiz for chasing title shot, but will get 'knocked out'
Liam McGeary understands why Tito Ortiz put so much effort into earning one last title shot. However, he thinks it was a big mistake to do so. Following back-to-back wins to start his Bellator MMA career, Ortiz (18-11-1 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) was offered a matchup against longtime rival Frank Shamrock. He declined and instead insisted Bellator MMA President Scott Coker grant him a light heavyweight championship fight with McGeary (10-0 MMA, 7-0 BMMA) at Bellator 142...

How Nick Diaz, of all people, exposed the NSAC's flaws
Of all the people to emerge as the persecuted anti-hero proving once and for all the dreadful overreach of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, it had to be Nick Diaz. Because of course it did. And of all the substances to serve as the catalyst for demonstrating that point, it had to be marijuana, of which Diaz is known to be a bit of an enthusiast. Because, apparently, the MMA gods have a sense of humor...

Nick Diaz fined $165,000, suspended five years by NSAC for UFC 183 positive drug test
After a protracted hearing that featured plenty of boring legalese from both sides, Diaz, 32, was fined $165,000 (33-percent of his $500,000 purse) and suspended for five years for what amounts to his third positive drug test in Nevada. The first came after a submission win over Takanori Gomi in 2007, followed by another in defeat to Carlos Condit in 2012. note: 5 years, god damn son, thats like prison time almost

41-year-old UFC vet Pedro Rizzo wins in Brazil, announces retirement
Pedro Rizzo returned to action Saturday after a hiatus of more than two years. After a win in his native Brazil, the heavyweight announced his retirement. The 41-year-old Rizzo (20-11) fought Andrew Smith at Face to Face 12’s main event in Vitoria, Brazil. Rizzo’s leg kicks were too much for Smith after five minutes, and he didn’t answer the bell for Round 2, giving “The Rock” a TKO win in his finale. Rizzo hadn’t fought since a decision loss in May 2013 to Satoshi Ishii in Japan. Prior to that, he headlined an M-1 Global event 11 months earlier, but was knocked out by Fedor Emelianenko in the first round. That fight came nearly two years after a TKO win over Ken Shamrock in Australia gave him a three-fight winning streak.
