On Fisher vs. Edgar
(sherdog.com)
Jens Pulver won the UFC lightweight title on Feb. 23, 2001. The next day he met Spencer Fisher. At a seminar in Wilmington, N.C., Pulver and Pat Miletich encountered a 200-pound "animal" on the mat. "I just remember watching him roll," Pulver says. "He was getting after me, getting after Pat." Come on out to Iowa, they told him. Train full time with the best in the world. A few months later Fisher left the hills for the fields. In Iowa he would also leave 200 pounds for 155.

Moments later he throws out December 29, which is the date for UFC 79: “Nemesis” at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sherdog Rankings
(sherdog.com)
Rankings for all weight classes. Not to shabby. Much better than the MMAWeekly's thats all I can say. Like always I got to express how messed up every ranking in the world is for still having Takanori Gomi as their top lightweight.

UFC Holds Fighter Development Meetings
(mmaweekly.com)
As the sport of mixed martial arts grows, so does the growing need for the fighters, who are now becoming financially sound and successful full-time athletes, to understand the business side of the industry they work in. Recently, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the largest organization in MMA, held meetings with many of their fighters and employees to help educate and inform them on many business practices and personal decisions they are now being faced with. “This thing was long overdue,” said UFC president Dana White about the meetings. “We should have done this a couple of years ago because we've got a lot of growing pains right now.

Spencer Fisher looks to take more strategic approach at UFC 78
(canadianpress.google.com)
At 31, Spencer (The King) Fisher isn't ready to slow down. But the mixed martial arts fighter does want to play it smart against lightweight Frank (The Answer) Edgar on Saturday night at UFC 78 in Newark, N.J. In the past Fisher has thrown punches, kicks, knees and caution into the wind. It's made for entertaining fights, but it has also put Fisher (21-3) under undue pressure at times. "I'm going to try to change things up for this fight," Fisher said in an interview.

First UFC forever altered combat sports
(sports.yahoo.com)
On November 12, 1993, everything most Americans thought they knew about fighting was thrown out the window. At the time, most people figured that the marquee heavyweight boxer, the imprisoned Mike Tyson, was the baddest man on the planet. But there were people with amateur wrestling backgrounds who thought otherwise, figuring that a wrestler could take a boxer off his feet and once he got him there, the boxer’s weapons were useless.
