Details about Trigg and Mayhem signings revealed during HDNet Fights conference call
HDNet Fights held a conference call on Wednesday afternoon to promote their next live telecast on Dec. 15 at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. Involved on the call were HDNet Fights president Andrew Simon, HDNet Fights matchmaker Guy Mezger, along with fighters Sean Salmon and Jason “Mayhem” Miller, who will be fighting each other in a clash of middleweight during the show’s co-main event. The other main event will feature Frank Trigg vs. Edwin Dewees. Here’s a recap of the conference call: - The rumors of Randy Couture joining the promotion were brought up. Mezger wasn’t real comfortable with the topic and said he wanted to focus on talking about the card. He said that if there was a way to get Couture on board at HDNet Fights that it would be “awesome.” - Miller and Trigg have signed three-fight contracts that are non-exclusive. However, there are some restrictions when it comes to their exclusivity, such as they don’t want fighters that they’ve signed to multi-fight deals competing a month before they’re supposed to fight for HDNet Fights.

Nick Diaz to seek out plastic surgeon
That’s the latest from Brian Knapp of The Fight Network: Nick Diaz will seek out the assistance of Las Vegas-based plastic surgeon Frank Stile in order to repair the considerable scar tissue that has developed around his eyes. Kit Cope, the man who cornered the 24-year-old in his failed attempt to win the EliteXC lightweight title at EliteXC “Renegade” on Saturday in Corpus Christi, Texas, made the announcement after the bout. Says Kit Cope: “He didn’t get hit with anything hard,” Cope said. “It’s just that he’s got some gnarly cuts. There were a couple of fights [in his past] where he got cut and then band aided it, you know … didn’t get any good stitches, so he’s got a lot of scar tissue. You breathe on the guy, and he gets cut.” “KJ Noons – Karl – you’re not even in the same league,” Cope said. “You’re luckier than a dog with two peckers.” Probably a good move by Nick Diaz to get this taken care of. He’s a young fighter and he’s bound to get hit in the face a lot more times in his career.

Crocop says “.... the haters”
Over the weekend Mirko CroCop took some time off from being surly and introverted to record a TV interview with some weird korwegian station: KW: Did you think about ending your career? Mirko: I did think of it the night after my last defeat, but I’m not going to end my career soon. I will have 5 or 6 fights at least. Maybe even more, who can tell. Every fight could be your last one. You can suffer from a fatal injury, you can break your leg or arm. If I’ll be able to fight I’ll fight, it’s my life and my choice and I enjoy doing it. I have a very strong motive, especially because of number of „wise“ Internet users saying that I’m done. I will prove they were wrong.
