UFC 158 Weigh In Results
After all other fighters made weight, Diaz tipped the scale at 169 pounds, and St-Pierre clocked in at 170 pounds. However, for their customary faceoff, the main eventers both got in a fighter's stance, quickly got their arms tangled (largely due to Diaz), and were instantly separated by UFC President Dana White before the bad blood spilled over a day early. The fighters traded barbs at Thursday's press conference after weeks of trash talk in the media. With today's brief scuffle quickly extinguished, though, the attention now turns to Saturday's big event. Dominick Cruz set to meet with the UFC to talk about the Bantamweight title and injury
Dana White: “There’s a lot of things we need to talk about with him. He is our champ, he is our guy, he needs time or whatever but we are getting to the point now where we really need to make a decision. This poor kid, I’ve never seen anybody with more bad luck than Cruz. And for him, coming back into this division – you know the way this sport is, to be have been off for two years is you know, I don’t think we have ever had anyone be off as long as he has. We’ve given him a lot of time, I like the kid and I have so much respect for him.”

Freddie Roach Trains ‘Improperly Taught’ Shogun Rua to Punch
Renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach was brought onboard Mauricio Rua’s training camp for UFC 161 to help Rua with his striking. Rua is known for his muay-thai game but according to Roach, when it comes to technical punches, Rua wasn’t properly taught how to throw them. Roach spoke to GracieMag on his work with Rua: “I was studying a lot of tape on him to get an idea of how he fights”; “He didn’t know how to transfer his weight too well, and he wasn’t a very big puncher at first,” Roach stated “Once we got him pivoting and punching off the right foot, keeping his boxing stance, he punched really, really hard when he did it correctly.” This new power could be a turning point in the 31-year old’s career especially after someone like Roach claims that before his work with Rua: “I don’t think he was ever taught how to do it correctly.” This, along with a new cardiovascular program that Roach plans to introduce to Rua, could transform the former light-heavyweight champion into a whole new fighter.
Diaz says St. Pierre is on 'plenty of steroids', UFC won't do anything
Nick Diaz kept up his verbal attack on UFC 158 opponent Georges St. Pierre today, saying that he's on steroids today on a radio show. He made hints at it at today's press conference, but Nick Diaz just came out and said it afterwards on a radio show. On The Fan 590, a Sportsnet radio station, Diaz laid his steroid allegations towards UFC 158 opponent Georges St. Pierre out there for hosts Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro. Here's what they had to say in regards to Nick's statement: "I believe that he's is on plenty of steroids, and I don't think they test around here either. I doubt I'll be tested as well. I don't care what they say to the fans or the media, I don't think we'll be tested. And if so, he's probably got a bottle of piss in his pocket."

"It was only fair," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
White: Mark Hunt earns title shot with UFC 160 knockout of Junior dos Santos
MONTREAL – The man who the UFC once tried to pay not to fight may soon find himself competing for the promotion's heavyweight title. Following today's UFC 158 pre-event presser in Montreal, UFC President Dana White told a group of reporters that should Mark Hunt (9-7 MMA, 4-1 UFC) score a knockout win over former champ Junior dos Santos (15-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) at May's UFC 160 event, "The Super Samoan" would likely earn himself a UFC title shot. "How is this guy not next in line?" White asked.
Dana White: UFC 'probably' will cut Nick Diaz if he fails UFC 158 drug test
MONTREAL – UFC President Dana White said the organization "probably" will cut Nick Diaz if the title challenger fails his drug test at Saturday's UFC 158 event. White laid out the scenario following today's UFC 158 press conference at Montreal's Bell Centre, which also hosts this weekend's pay-per-view title fight between Diaz (26-8 MMA, 7-5 UFC) and UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (23-2 MMA, 17-2 UFC). Johny Hendricks isn't going to be a douchebag and trash talk himself into a title fight like Nick Diaz
I haven't heard much about all the fights Diaz has won or how he tore through the rest of the division to get his crack at the crown. But why get caught up in details at this point? Diaz has talked his way into a title shot while Johny Hendricks, who already beat two former number one contenders during his five-fight winning streak (with three violent finishes) settles for Carlos Condit. "Bigg Rigg" explains why (via Fight World): "I don't trash talk because I have too much respect for everybody. But, there is a point in time where enough is enough. If I get through Carlos Condit, [Georges St. Pierre] has nothing to stand on - he can't go after anyone else except for me and I can't wait for that day. I can trash talk, but I don't know GSP. I can say he is this, this, this and this, but it doesn't mean it's true. Know what I mean? I could easily do that, but I don't want to be that kind of douchebag. His main little quote is, 'You've never faced anyone like me.' Bullshit. You've never face anyone like ME, that's why he didn't want to take the fight." A lot of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans think Hendricks is full of hot air. Some fighters do, too, including Nick Diaz, who told media members he didn't think anyone wanted to see St. Pierre fight the bearded brawler, which gave Hendricks the impression that Diaz isn't much of an MMA fan. "Obviously, [Nick Diaz] has never seen me fight, because I knock people out. What does Diaz do? He talks trash, throws his hands up and that's it. I knock people out. When's the last time any of you have seen me use my wrestling? Six, seven fights ago? I used it a little bit on Josh Koscheck, but not much. That's one of my attributes that nobody's seen. For him to say [nobody wants to see Hendricks vs. GSP], he's not an MMA fan."
Jared Papazian back to bantamweight and gunning for UFC return
Jared Papazian once called his manager every day to see whether he'd been secured a UFC contract. It was so important, it consumed his life. He's not making any calls now. Released by the industry-leading promotion after going 0-3 inside the octagon, he's back on the regional circuit. Before he picks up the phone again, he wants to have something to offer. On Friday, Papazian (14-9) headlines BAMMA USA's "Badbeat 8" opposite Terrion Ware (3-1) at Commerce Casino in Commerce, Calif., and he hopes to rebuild his career with an impressive win.
