Dana White: Conor McGregor isn't back on UFC 200, 'I don't know why he'd tweet that'
The final week of April has kicked off with the MMA topic of discussion centered around -- you guessed it -- UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor. "The Notorious" Irishman tweeted that he'd returned to UFC 200, despite Dana White's numerous public assertions that he's permanently pulled from the event.
However, much like his "I'm retired" tweet from last week, this is evidently not true. Reports by MMAjunkie's John Morgan and MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, both of whom indicated that nothing had changed over the past few days regarding Conor's status at UFC 200.
For good measure, UFC president Dana White told TMZ Sports that McGregor remains off the card.
Former welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves says next fight will be at lightweight
Once scolded for his inability to consistently drop down to the welterweight limit, Thiago Alves is apparently going down even further to lightweight.
According to Alves (21-10 MMA, 14-6 UFC), who challenged former 170-pound champion Georges St-Pierre for the title at UFC 100 in July 2009, his next fight will take place at 155 pounds. He said he anticipates stepping in the octagon in August with an opponent for his debut in the weight class to be announced soon.

Conor McGregor tweets he's back on the UFC 200 card
The plot thickens. Again.
Conor McGregor tweeted Sunday night that he is back on the UFC 200 card after a tumultuous few days between him and the promotion last week.
McGregor, the biggest financial draw in the sport and the UFC featherweight champion, was scheduled to face Nate Diaz in the main event of the card until last Tuesday. "The Notorious" announced he was retired on Twitter and a few hours later UFC president Dana White explained that McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 because he wouldn't fly to Las Vegas to perform promotional obligations.
On Thursday, McGregor posted a lengthy statement on Facebook, clarifying that he wanted to focus on training after losing to Nate Diaz at UFC 196 and was willing to do some promotion now and some later. White doubled down, though, on Friday at a press conference, saying that McGregor was definitely off the UFC 200 card and the UFC was looking for a new opponent for Diaz.
Now, though, McGregor is saying he is back on UFC 200.
A request for comment from the UFC was not immediately returned Sunday night.

Patricio Freire wants to regain the Bellator featherweight belt, but first he needs to get past Henry Corrales.

"Pitbull" wanted to avenge the loss and get the belt back, and claims that Bellator was willing to make a fourth between them bout right away, but the champion was forced to be on the sidelines.
Undefeated Andrew Todhunter Will CallI It A Career Following Legacy FC 54 Bout
Looking back on 2015, Oklahoma-based middleweight Andrew Todhunter isn’t shy about saying it was the lowest point of both his MMA career and life outside the cage.
The first problem Todhunter ran into was when he was offered a fight at UFC 188 in Mexico City at welterweight. Unfortunately, fighting at a weight class below what he is used to and being in unfamiliar surroundings made for disastrous results.
