TUF 25 Finale bonuses: Justin Gaethje's sick, sick debut was a double winner for $100,000
Justin Gaethje, Michael Johnson and Tecia Torres each earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at today’s TUF 25 Finale event – and Gaethje doubled up for $100,000. Gaethje and Johnson earned the “Fight of the Night,” while Gaethje and Torres each won “Performance of the Night” honors.

‘Shogun’ Rua vs. Ovince Saint Preux 2 set to headline UFC Fight Night 117 in Japan
The UFC’s return to Japan will be headlined by a former Pride FC champion. Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua has been scheduled to face Ovince Saint Preux in the main event of UFC Fight Night 117, which is set to take place on Sept. 23 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The news was announced by the UFC on Thursday.

Pro Fighters League debuts with 291,000 viewers
The debut of the Pro Fighters League on NBC Sports this past Friday night, a show headlined by former UFC top welterweight contender Jon Fitch against Brian Foster, did 291,000 viewers. Fitch (30-7-1, 1 no contest) scored his first finish since June 2007, in scoring a second-round win over Foster (27-10) with a bulldog choke.

Ladd-Eye Pulled From The TUF Finale Card
Due to illness, Aspen Ladd has been removed from her Friday night bout against Jessica Eye at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The TUF Finale card will proceed as scheduled with 11 bouts that begin at 3:30pm PT / 6:30pm ET.

Gilbert Melendez Makes Featherweight Debut In September Against Jeremy Stephens
One of the top lightweights of this era will make his move to the featherweight division on Sept. 9, as Gilbert "El Nino" Melendez faces Jeremy "Lil' Heathen" Stephens in a UFC 215 bout at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. A former Strikeforce and WEC champion, Melendez has fought the best of the best in the UFC since debuting in the promotion in 2013, fighting twice for the 155-pound crown, but now the 35-year-old will battle it out in a new weight class, where he will be put to the test immediately by the hard-hitting Stephens, whose last three wins have been over Darren Elkins, Dennis Bermudez and Renan Barao.

Chris Weidman turned down a trilogy fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 212
After Kelvin Gastelum was forced off the UFC 212 card in Rio for a potential USADA violation in May, the UFC reached out to former middleweight champion Chris Weidman to see if he would be interested in a third meeting with Anderson Silva. Only four weeks out from the Brazilian event when he was notified of the offer and still nursing some injuries from his controversial loss to Gegard Mousasi, Weidman decided that the trilogy fight wasn’t the best idea at the time.

Scott Coker: Paul Daley vs. Michael Page planned for early 2018, ‘MVP’ to box in interim
The ongoing saga of Michael Page and Paul Daley doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon, but at least there’s timeline fans can now attach to the two English rivals. Following Page’s latest social media salvo, which declared that Daley had turned down a planned September grudge match between the Bellator welterweights, Bellator president Scott Coker revealed on The MMA Hour that Page vs. Daley was still in his promotion’s plans, but that the match-up would have to wait until early 2018 due to insistence on Daley’s part.

Chris Weidman loses NYSAC appeal after controversial stoppage at UFC 210
On the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Chris Weidman revealed that he lost the appeal of his controversial loss to Gegard Mousasi at UFC 210. At the time of the fight, it was believed that the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) could not use instant replays for the events that they oversee. Days after the April event, NYSAC confirmed in a statement to MMAFighting.com that instant replays are “officially allowed” in the state of New York.

UFC legend Matt Hughes off ventilator, showing ‘small signs of improvement’
Matt Hughes is doing better after being seriously injured in a scary truck-train crash last month. The UFC legend is no longer on a ventilator and has shown "small signs of improvement,” per a statement posted by his family to his sister Beth Ulrici Hughes’ Facebook page.

Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather first news conference set for London's Wembley Stadium
Get yourself mentally prepared for the onslaught. It’s starting in two weeks. (Well, you probably think it’s started already.) The first news conference between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor ahead of their boxing mega-match will go down at Wembley Stadium in London, according to a report from The Sun. No specific date has been announced, though we’ve known for a bit that a world tour will be happening between the two combat sports greats.

Albert Morales replaces Mitch Gagnon, meets Brett Johns at UFC Fight Night 113
Bantamweight Albert Morales (7-1-1 MMA, 1-1-1 UFC) has agreed to step in on short notice to replace Mitch Gagnon (12-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC) and face Brett Johns (13-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at next week’s UFC Fight Night 113 even in Scotland. UFC officials today announced the change in plans. UFC Fight Night 113 takes place July 16 at SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The card airs on FS1.

Jared Cannonier gets new TUF 25 Finale opponent just days away after Steve Bosse pulls out
The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale card is getting a last-minute change. Steve Bosse is out and in his place Nick Roehrick has signed with the UFC to fight Jared Cannonier in a light heavyweight bout on just three days’ notice, a company official today told MMAjunkie following an initial report from Twitter user Shawn Bitter. The TUF 25 Finale takes place Friday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The card airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Championship doubleheader slated for Invicta FC 25 in California
Invicta FC is going to California and bringing a championship doubleheader event with it. The promotion announced Monday that Invicta FC 25 will take place Aug. 31 at Tachi Palace in Lemoore, Calif., and atop the card, which will stream on UFC Fight Pass, is a pair fights for vacant title belts.

Fight Nights Global 69 results: Ali Bagautinov with submission win in Russia
Former UFC title contender Ali Bagautinov secured his first win since returning to Russia earlier this year when he secured a second round submission over Pedro Nobre at Fight Nights Global 69 on Friday night. Fight Nights Global 69, or FNG 69, took place on Friday, June 30 at the Sibir Ice Sports Palace in Novosibirsk, Russia. As well as the flyweight main event, also on the card was English lightweight Jack McGann, who unfortunately fell to an early stoppage defeat at the hands of Nikolay Gaponov.

Donald Cerrone vs. Robbie Lawler rebooked for UFC 214 after all
The welterweight showdown between former champion Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerrone that was supposed to take place this week has a new home. Cerrone (32-7 MMA, 19-4 UFC) and Lawler (27-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) were set to meet at Saturday’s UFC 213 before a Cerrone injury forced him off the card. But fans won’t have to wait long for the welterweights to get after it. According to Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times, UFC President Dana White told him today the two have been rebooked for UFC 214 later this month.

UFC 213 Lineup Complete with Addition of Two New Bouts
UFC 213 card has been finalized with the addition of two contests featuring a quartet of Octagon newcomers. Cody Stamann will meet Terrion Ware at featherweight, and James Bochnovic will lock horns with Trevin Giles in a light Thr Heavyweight duel on July 8 in Las Vegas, the promotion announced Saturday. UFC 213 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight championship tilt between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko. Additionally, a heavyweight clash between Daniel Omielanczuk and Curtis Blaydes has been elevated to the pay-per-view draw following the postponement of Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone. Meanwhile, Stamann-Ware and Bochnovic-Giles will kick off the UFC Fight Pass portion of the card, which begins at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
