Marlon Moraes and Josh Hill rematch in WSOF 32 main event
(mmajunkie.com)
Josh Hill managed to win one round the first time he and Marlon Moraes battled in the WSOF cage. Given Moraes’ dominance of the bantamweight division, that’s enough to earn Hill another crack at the champ. A WSOF press release today announced the bout. Moraes (16-4-1) and Hill (14-1) will meet in the new main event of WSOF 32. The event takes place July 30 at Xfinity Arena in Everett, Wash., north of Seattle. Anderson Silva out of UFC 198, may require gall bladder surgery
(sports.yahoo.com)
Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was forced Tuesday to pull out of his homecoming fight in Curitiba, Brazil, with Uriah Hall because of abdominal pain that may require gall bladder surgery, UFC president Dana White confirmed to Yahoo Sports. Jeff Davidson, the UFC's medical consultant, told Yahoo Sports that Silva, 41, will be examined in Brazil for potential gall bladder surgery. "Anderson developed abdominal discomfort [Monday and] further evaluation today is consistent with acute cholecystitis," Davidson said Tuesday. "He will be seen by a surgeon today for possible surgery." Cholecystitis is inflammation of the gall bladder and is a primary reason patients have their gall bladders removed. Silva's removal from the show puts a major dent into the UFC 198 card, which will be held in his hometown. White said he is trying to find an opponent for Hall to keep him on the card.

UFC owners reportedly in heavy discussions to sell promotion
(mmafighting.com)
One of the biggest stories in the history of mixed martial arts seems to be taking shape. The Fertitta brothers are in heavy discussions about selling the UFC and four bidders have emerged, according to a report from ESPN business insider Darren Rovell. The winning bid, Rovell reported, is supposed to be somewhere between $3.5 and $4 billion. Four companies have put in bids for the UFC, including WME/IMG, China Media Capital, The Blackstone Group and Dalian Wanda Group, according to the report. The Dalian Wanda Group out of China is the front-runner and a sale could be announced as soon as July, sources told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani. Nothing is finalized, though, and the situation is very fluid. "As a private company, we don't discuss speculation or rumors related to our business," UFC vice president of public relations Dave Sholler told ESPN.

Prestige FC 7 Cancelled Due to Ongoing Wildfire
(topmmanews.com)
As we are sure you assumed, the Prestige FC 7 card on June 3rd has been postponed. Many of the people involved in the Ft McMurray MMA scene have lost their homes in the fire and others had family and friends who lost theirs. At this time the residence of Ft Mac aren’t sure when they will be allowed to return to their homes. We had hopes we could still hold the show as scheduled and give the locals an event they could enjoy during a terrible time, however the situation is worse than we first thought and holding an event four weeks from now would be impossible. As a group we would like to thank the Canadian MMA community, and fans of Canadian MMA, for their incredible support! We would also like to encourage all promotions across Canada that are currently booking fights to put Jesse Ronson, Matt Dwyer, Cody Krahn, Luke Spicer, and Leroy Noltcho at the top of your list. These men have been great to work with and have been nothing but professional since we signed them to fight for Prestige. All are ready and will be looking for a promotion to fight for.

(sherdog.com)
Bellator MMA will no longer crown a women’s featherweight champion at this month’s Bellator 155. The organization on Tuesday announced that an injury has forced Julia Budd to withdraw from her clash with Marloes Coenen, which would have seen one woman walk away as Bellator’s inaugural 145-pound female titleholder. The nature of Budd’s injury was not specified. Coenen will instead meet former UFC competitor Alexis Dufresne on the undercard of Bellator 155, which takes place May 20 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. BAMMA 26 postponed in order to implement new medical standards
(mmaplus.co.uk)
European Mixed Martial Arts promotion BAMMA have made the decision to postpone their June 4, BAMMA 26 event in order to implement new medical standards. The event was scheduled to take place at Dublin’s 3Arena and was set to be headlined by Light-Heavyweight title fight, Paul Craig versus Ireland’s own Chris Fields. The card will now take place on September 10th and is fully expected to still take place in Ireland. MMA in Ireland has found itself under a microscope recently, with the unfortunate passing of Portuguese fighter Joao Carvalho in April. In light of this, BAMMA have made the decision to introduce mandatory annual pre-fight MRI/MRA scans for all of their fighters.

Scott Coker rules out Dada 5000's Bellator return: 'I think we should just be friends'
(bloodyelbow.com)
Bellator FC president Scott Coker does not see any reason for Dada 5000 to be back fighting under his organization. Last February 19, heavyweight fighter Dhafir Harris, more popularly known as "Dada 5000" suffered a major health scare following his fight against Kimbo Slice at Bellator 149. The 38-year old fighter suffered two heart attacks and renal failure during the fight that was officially ruled as a third round TKO victory in favor of Slice. In his appearance at the Dan LeBatard show in mid-April, Harris attributed his near-death experience to being a mere "part-time fighter".

(mmaweekly.com)
Rizin Fighting Federation has rekindled the fighting spirit of Pride FC in Japan, bringing in fighters such as Fedor Emelianenko, Wanderlei Silva, and Kazushi Sakuraba. The foundation of the promotion, however, is its eight-man Grand Prix. Rizin has built its Grand Prix not by signing all the fighters it can find, but by inviting fighters from partnering promotions around the globe to send their fighters to compete. Rizin’s first Grand Prix winner was Bellator’s King Mo Lawal. Returning to the Grand Prix format in 2016, Rizin president and former Pride executive Nobuyuki Sakakibara said that the first round of the 2016 Grand Prix will begin in September and conclude with the promotion’s big New Year’s event.

Invicta FC 17 results: Evinger retains at bantamweight, Hill captures strawweight belt
(mmajunkie.com)
Colleen Schneider was as high as a +400 underdog entering her shot at Tonya Evinger and the bantamweight title at Invicta FC 17. She came up short, but showed enough to suggest she may have deserved a little more respect at the sportsbooks. Schneider (10-7) was game for five rounds against Evinger (18-5) never backing down from her more experienced and accomplished opponent. However, Evinger simply had more tools available as she repeatedly used trip takedowns to grind away for a unanimous decision victory.
