Ex-UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald not likely to make Bellator debut until summer 2017
If you’re anxious to see how Rory MacDonald will do now that he’s made the move from the UFC to Bellator, you’re going to be waiting for a while. After his official introduction as the newest member of Bellator’s welterweight division this past Friday at Bellator 160, which took place at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., MacDonald said he’s not expecting to step into the Bellator cage for the first time until 2017. MacDonald (18-4 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) has struggled with recurring broken nose issues and said he wants his nose to heal once and for all before getting back in another fight.

Scorecards: Jim Miller topped Joe Lauzon with 67% of judges – but just 7% of media, 11% of fans
In Saturday’s network-televised opener at UFC on FOX 21, Miller (27-8 MMA, 16-7 UFC) and Lauzon (26-12 MMA, 13-9 UFC) engaged in a grueling, bloody and hard-fought three-round lightweight scrap. And like the first meeting, which came at UFC 155 in 2012, Miller again emerged victorious. This time, it was via split decision, with two of the three judges sitting cageside at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena awarding Miller the victory via 29-28 scores (watch the Miller vs. Lauzon video highlights). However, the judges turned in three different scorecards, and they agreed on only one round: the first, which Miller picked up with 10-9 scores.

UFC’s Adam Hunter flagged by USADA, pulled from UFC on FOX 21 fight
Saturday night's card is down a fight. Adam Hunter was flagged by USADA for a potential UFC anti-doping policy violation Friday and was removed from his UFC on FOX 21 bout with Ryan Janes, the UFC announced Friday. Hunter failed a drug test in an out-of-competition sample taken Aug. 11. USADA does not release the name of the substance until after the adjudication process or when the athlete does so first. Hunter (7-1), a middleweight, was set to make his UFC debut. The New Brunswick, Canada native was riding a seven-fight winning streak into what would have been a fight with Janes. Hunter, 32, is coming off a first-round knockout of Chris Dempsey in June under the GOTC banner. Janes (8-1) has won seven straight and he, too, was attempting to make his UFC debut. Now the nearby Victoria, B.C., native will be without a fight on the card. Both Hunter and Janes officially weighed in Friday morning. The UFC released the following statement Friday evening:

Valentina Shevchenko signs seven-fight extension with the UFC
Valentina Shevchenko has settled into the UFC pretty nicely. And now she has a brand new, long-term contract for her hard work. Shevchenko signed a new, seven-fight extension with the UFC this week, her manager Roger Allen told MMA Fighting on Friday. UFC officials confirmed the news. The Kyrgyzstan native is coming off a huge unanimous decision win over Holly Holm at UFC on FOX 20 last month. Shevchenko debuted with a split decision win over Sarah Kaufman last December before falling to now-champion Amanda Nunes by unanimous decision at UFC 196 in March. Shevchenko (13-2) is a 17-time former Muay Thai world champion and one of the most decorated strikers in the UFC, male or female. The 28-year-old has lived in Peru for the last eight years, but also trains in Houston and Thailand often. Her only two pro MMA losses have come against Liz Carmouche and Nunes.

Who will GSP fight at UFC 206?
The legendary fighter started his testing Aug. 10. The UFC's return to Toronto just so happens to be at UFC 206 on Dec. 10 — four months to the very day. "I want to go back to fighting. I don't have to. I would like to, because I feel I'm in my prime right now. I'm the best I've ever been at 35. Right now. I don't want to wait any longer, because if I wait too long I'm gonna be past that prime and I don't want that. This is a good time to be back right now. That's why I want to go back."

Russian MMA Union now regulating street fights
On August 21, a beach volleyball stadium in Omsk, Russia was transformed into a gladiator pit for aspiring MMA fighters. A makeshift ring was erected from the sand. The ropes were made of braided rope and the canvas was nothing more than matted grass and patted sand. Small crowds huddled around the makeshift square chanting ‘Russiya' while their countrymen flailed gloved fists at each other. Incredibly, the fights which appeared to be nothing more than a replica of a scene from ‘Snatch,' were regulated by the Russian MMA Union. A single judge watched the proceedings from alongside the pseudo-ring. The referee placed in the ring with the two fighters was also an official from the Union.

Rory Macdonald headed to Bellator
Ufc informed Macdonald team they couldn't match an offer by Bellator. Its all but done......so much so that the Ufc removed Rory from its rankings and website. This is a big signing for Bellators WW division and just in general as it adds to the list of competition snatched away in their prime and while top ranked in the world. Alot of cool fights at multiple weights and in kickboxing if he chooses.......i've heard rumblings of cowboy cerrone being offered 350,000 a fight to join Bellator lets see lol. War coker!!!!!
