Grant thought about retiring from concussion woes
It's strange talking to T.J. Grant. For a fighter who has lost out on not one, but two golden opportunities, he's in pretty good spirits. And for an athlete who is facing the worst injury situation of his career, he's in pretty good shape. Yet, that's his reality. He's done his best to manage everything that's gone wrong without it overrun and derail his still-promising career.
Gustafsson Wants His Shot Back
Alexander Gustafsson wants his title shot back.
"The Mauler" was forced to surrender his rematch against Jon Jones after a knee injury sent him under the knife (details). In his absence, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) promoted Daniel Cormier to No. 1 contender (with great results), but now "Bones" is hurt and on the sidelines until 2015.
And that's when "The Mauler" will be ready to make his return (via Facebook):
I just heard the news that Jones is injured and the fight is rescheduled to January 3???? Until then, I will be more than ready, it was MY fight to begin with and I WANT the fight as the number 1 contender. End of story!!
I think Cormier might have something to say about that.
