UFC Considering Luke Rockhold vs. Vitor Belfort for Later This Year
The middleweight division is going through more than a few changes lately with some of the top contenders losing and new challengers emerging at the top. One familiar face that planted himself back in the race was former UFC champion Vitor Belfort, who took care of Michael Bisping in dramatic fashion earlier this month with a head kick knockout at UFC on FX 7. While Belfort is still likely a couple of fights away from possibly earning a rematch with champion Anderson Silva, he can still climb the ladder by beating other top contenders along the way. The fighter most likely to find himself standing across the Octagon from Belfort next is former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold...
UFC Fox 6's Rampage Jackson has made $15.2M in UFC, Dana White still wants to 'make a deal'
Ever since his loss to Ryan Bader at UFC 144, Quinton Jackson has made it more than well known that he's unhappy as a UFC fighter. Over the last year he's voiced numerous complaints about being mistreated by the promotion and dissatisfaction with being matched with guys who just want to wrestle him to a decision.

Early returns indicate Ultimate Fighter move made a big difference
The move of Ultimate Fighter to Tuesday night, with bigger name coaches in Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen, led to a significant increase in viewership. The two-hour debut episode, which showed the fights to get into the house, did 1.51 million viewers based on the fast nationals. That would be significantly ahead of any episode of the show since moving to FX, but still below the levels the show generally did in its previous incarnation on Spike. The final daily numbers were not yet available at press time due to delays caused by a Monday holiday. If those numbers hold up, it would be 59 percent ahead of the 947,000 viewers for the open of season 16. That season finished averaging 796,000 viewers, barely half of what the first episode of season 17 did...
UFC on FX 7: UFC sets both its FX and Fuel viewership records
In something that has to be considered a surprise, the UFC set a pair of network records on Saturday night with UFC on FX 7 from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main show, headlined by Vitor Belfort's second-round knockout over Michael Bisping, did 1,857,000 viewers. It was the largest audience to witness an MMA show on FX and beat the record for a UFC on FX-specific show by 30 percent. The prelims for the show on Fuel did 255,000 viewers which was the single-most watched television show in the history of that station. It broke the old Fuel record for a prelims show of 160,000 viewers by 59 percent...

As with UFC on FOX 6, UFC moving more toward free TV for title bouts
Before the UFC's landmark TV deal with the FOX network began in earnest in 2012, UFC President Dana White kept assuring fans and media that we would see "some good fights" on network TV. At the time, that phrase seemed both intentionally vague and yet strangely telling. Notice he didn't say title fights. Those, it seemed, would still be reserved for pay-per-view. FOX would get the stuff that the UFC didn't mind giving away for free, much like Spike TV had before the UFC's contract with the cable network expired in 2011. But if you take a look at this weekend's UFC on FOX 6 fight card, you'll see that change is in the air, and that's good news for mixed martial arts fans...

Dana: I'll jump off a bridge if Diaz fails for pot
Dana White is not involving himself in Nick Diaz's marijuana use ahead of his scheduled title fight against Georges St. Pierre at UFC 158 on March 16, 2013. Despite testing pot positive twice in the past, White says he is not Diaz's father and another failed drug test would be "brutal."
Dana White: Josh Barnett to the UFC is 'probably going to happen'
Josh Barnett has had a long and complicated relationship with the UFC brass over the years; however, it appears "The Warmaster" may be on his way back to the world famous Octagon as UFC President Dana White said Barnett's return to the UFC is "probably going to happen."
UFC 158's Nick Diaz made most of layoff but makes no promises past next fight
After sitting out what will be 13 months, the usually busy Nick Diaz made the most of his layoff and healed up some nagging injuries. But even with an upcoming title shot, Diaz, who had actually announced his retirement at one point during his layoff, isn't making any promises past his next fight.

Sponsor agrees to pay Bellator's Rick Hawn after initially stopping sponsorship check
A verbal agreement gone wrong. That's the best way to describe what happened between Bellator lightweight Rick Hawn and lifestyle brand HTFU. Hawn took to Twitter Monday to explain that after losing the Bellator lightweight title fight to champion Michael Chandler last Thursday, HTFU decided to break their sponsorship agreement. He wrote, "one of my main sponsors from my fight canceled his check cuz (sic) he wasnt (sic) happy with the outcome or my performance." HTFU had verbally agreed to pay Hawn $1,500 to wear their apparel on fight night. They also sent him extra gear...
GSP Didn’t Want to Fight Johny Hendricks Because He Believes He Lost to Josh Koscheck
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre states the reason he wanted to face Nick Diaz is because in his mind he was the No. 1 contender for the belt. The long reigning champion was quizzed on Wednesday during a UFC 158 pre-fight press conference in Montreal about his decision to ask the UFC to face Diaz instead of current top contender Johny Hendricks. St-Pierre says there were a few factors at work, including the fact that it was the fight the fans wanted to see most.
