Awad replaces injured Freire, Woodard-Rickles likely new Bellator 87 headliner
A little more than a day before the event, Bellator 87 has lost its headliner. Patricky "Pitbull" Freire has suffered an undisclosed injury, and Guillaume DeLorenzi now fights Saad Awad in a Season 8 lightweight-tournament bout.

Shortly after Coach Jon Jones made the first match-up of the season, dissension spread throughout his team. Jim Miller Welcomes Pat Healy to Octagon at UFC 159
The Ultimate Fighting Championship was all about UFC 159 bout announcements on Tuesday night. Less than an hour after confirming a heavyweight scrap between Roy Nelson and Cheick Kongo and a light heavyweight matchup with Vinny Magalhaes and Phil Davis to the lineup, the promotion added a lightweight tango between Jim Miller (Pictured) and Pat Healy to the April 27th roster. Miller has alternated between wins and losses over his past five outings. The 29-year-old battered and bloodied Joe Lauzon in his last foray for a unanimous decision victory.
Dana White says Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman is 'closer than people think'
In an effort to appeal for contendership, Weidman met with UFC president Dana White on Friday before UFC On Fox 6. Tuesday, on UFC Tonight, Dana gave some details from his talk with Weidman: "ople think. I actually thought that Weidman was going to be out a lot longer than he was because of his injury, but he's healed up pretty well and he'll be ready to start training in a couple of months. So we're looking at a couple of different options, some options we like, and Weidman is one of them."
UFC Adding Strawweight Division (115lbs) But No Timeline for The Debut
The UFC will be adding yet another new weight class in the future as the strawweights (115lbs) get their shot in the Octagon. Now the timing of when that will happen remains a mystery, but UFC President Dana White confirmed when speaking to UFC Tonight on Tuesday that they are planning to add the additional division at some point down the road. “As the sport continues to grow and we go into these other markets like Latin America, Asia, yes, we will eventually open up a lighter weight division. Which is a great thing. It’s an amazing opportunity for fighters all over the world,” said White.
Davis vs. Magalhaes, Kongo vs. Nelson Added To UFC 159
A pair of new matchups has been added to April's UFC 159 event as Phil Davis meets Vinny Magalhaes in a light heavyweight affair, while Cheick Kongo faces Roy Nelson in a heavyweight contest. UFC officials announced the two bouts on Tuesday's new edition of "UFC Tonight." UFC 159, which features a title fight between light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones and "The Ultimate Fighter 17" fellow head coach Chael Sonnen, takes place April 27 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Hatsu Hioki Responds to Fan Criticism of Clay Guida
At the recent UFC on Fox 6 event, one of the most hotly contested bouts of the evening came between Hatsu Hioki and Clay Guida. It appeared in the fight that Hioki managed to work significantly to land damage and finish the fight from the bottom position, yet the judges ruled the fight in Guida’s favor via split decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28). Shortly after the fight, Hioki spoke to MMAWeekly.com about the loss. And while he gave all credit to his opponent for the win, comments made by readers regarding Guida’s perceived stall tactics has Hioki wishing to further express his feelings about the bout.

SI.com has confirmed through multiple sources that UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has signed into a multi-year deal with Spike TV, a property of Viacom, to appear in multiple projects for the cable channel, as well as other possible ventures within the media conglomerate's family of networks.
