TUF 17 Recap, Week 2: Disagreement, Dissension, and Control
Shortly after Coach Jon Jones made the first match-up of the season, dissension spread throughout his team. After teams were selected in the debut episode, members of Team Jones submitted a list of when they wanted to fight and whom they wanted to face. The list was presented to the coaching staff, but Coach Jones had other plans. Jones selected Gilbert Smith to face Team Sonnen’s Luke Barnatt. Barnatt has a sizable height and reach advantage over Smith, and the decision didn’t sit well with members of the team...

Jim Miller Welcomes Pat Healy to Octagon at UFC 159
The Ultimate Fighting Championship was all about UFC 159 bout announcements on Tuesday night. Less than an hour after confirming a heavyweight scrap between Roy Nelson and Cheick Kongo and a light heavyweight matchup with Vinny Magalhaes and Phil Davis to the lineup, the promotion added a lightweight tango between Jim Miller (Pictured) and Pat Healy to the April 27th roster. Miller has alternated between wins and losses over his past five outings. The 29-year-old battered and bloodied Joe Lauzon in his last foray for a unanimous decision victory.

Dana White says Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman is 'closer than people think'
In an effort to appeal for contendership, Weidman met with UFC president Dana White on Friday before UFC On Fox 6. Tuesday, on UFC Tonight, Dana gave some details from his talk with Weidman: "ople think. I actually thought that Weidman was going to be out a lot longer than he was because of his injury, but he's healed up pretty well and he'll be ready to start training in a couple of months. So we're looking at a couple of different options, some options we like, and Weidman is one of them."

UFC Adding Strawweight Division (115lbs) But No Timeline for The Debut
The UFC will be adding yet another new weight class in the future as the strawweights (115lbs) get their shot in the Octagon. Now the timing of when that will happen remains a mystery, but UFC President Dana White confirmed when speaking to UFC Tonight on Tuesday that they are planning to add the additional division at some point down the road. “As the sport continues to grow and we go into these other markets like Latin America, Asia, yes, we will eventually open up a lighter weight division. Which is a great thing. It’s an amazing opportunity for fighters all over the world,” said White.

Hatsu Hioki Responds to Fan Criticism of Clay Guida
At the recent UFC on Fox 6 event, one of the most hotly contested bouts of the evening came between Hatsu Hioki and Clay Guida. Shortly after the fight, Hioki spoke to MMAWeekly.com about the loss. And while he gave all credit to his opponent for the win, comments made by readers regarding Guida’s perceived stall tactics has Hioki wishing to further express his feelings about the bout.

Dana White calls Anderson Silva's camp call-out of Cung Le 'typical craziness'
Late last week, Ed Soares, the manager of UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva, got a rise out of the MMA community by bringing up San Shou stylist Cung Le as a possible next contender. Le is on a two-fight win streak with a decision over Patrick Cote and a knockout of Rich Franklin. Certainly that record is respectable, but no one but Soares would call it contender-worthy.
