Jessica Aguilar off UFC Austin, may face Livinha Souza at UFC on FOX 28 or UFC 222
(https:)
Jessica Aguilar won’t be fighting at this weekend’s UFC event. The former WSOF women’s strawweight champion has been removed from the UFC Austin card, MMA Fighting has learned. UFC Austin (UFC Fight Night 126) is set to go down Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Aguilar’s withdrawal comes after her opponent Livinha Souza was forced off the card due to a hand injury. The UFC was unable to find a replacement opponent for the American Top Team fighter, and it is now planning to reschedule the Aguilar-Souza match up for a later date. The promotion is eyeing to place the 115-pound contest on either this month’s UFC Orlando or UFC 222 in Las Vegas.

(https:)
In MMA, fighter retirements rarely stick for good, especially the first time. So when UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber announced he was hanging up the gloves at the end of 2016, many suspected the still spry bantamweight might eventually eventually make his way back into the Octagon once again. And it turns out, Faber himself is keeping that option ready, perhaps at a moment’s notice. Speaking with Submission Radio over the weekend, Faber revealed that despite retiring from competition in December of 2016, he never left the USADA drug testing pool, meaning that if he ever wanted to fight again he could do so immediately instead.

The most highly anticipated opponent for Tyron Woodley right now might be Dana White. On Wednesday, White said on UFC Tonight that Woodley was “full of sh*t” for comments he made earlier in the week to ESPN about potentially fighting Nate Diaz next. Woodley didn’t seem to take that real well. The UFC welterweight champion said Friday in his “Hollywood Beatdown” segment for TMZ Sports that White, the UFC president, was the one putting out wrong information.

Dominick Cruz to ‘silly’ T.J. Dillashaw: ‘Stop going down and looking for little baby boys at 125’
(https:)
When Max Holloway pulled out of UFC 222, the UFC was left to scramble for a pay-per-view worthy main event that could headline on short notice, and their first choice was a bantamweight title rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt. Garbrandt was all for the idea but Dillashaw declined, saying he wouldn’t defend his belt on four weeks’ notice when he was instead pursuing a superfight with flyweight champion and pound-for-pound king, Demetrious Johnson. Now it appears that fight is in the works for this summer, and not everyone is happy about it, including former bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz. Speaking recently on MaxOut with Ed Mylett, Cruz showed some annoyance with the bantamweight title situation, suggesting that he should get to fight for the belt next and that Dillashaw wanted to take an “easy fight” instead of risk losing his title.

Quinton Jackson wants to even the score with his longtime rival Wanderlei Silva, and “The Axe Murderer” is open to fighting him a fourth time — with one condition. Silva, who beat “Rampage” twice by knockout inside the PRIDE ring, but lost their third fight under the UFC banner almost a decade ago, heard Jackson’s recent comments on The MMA Hour, promising “another ass whooping” against the Brazilian. Both Silva and “Rampage” are coming off decision losses to Chael Sonnen, and the Brazilian told Gazeta do Povo that he wants to have the home field advantage this time.

Speaking on the FS1 show UFC Tonight on Wednesday, White ridiculed the notion that Woodley vs. Diaz was an idea that was never discussed.
