UFC® Announces UFC® FIGHT NIGHT Sold Out- Also Now A 3 Hour Event!
ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCES FIGHT NIGHT IS SOLD OUT;
SPIKE TV TO EXPAND SHOW TO THREE HOURS
Las Vegas, NV (USA)
– The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) organization today announced that UFC® Fight Night™ – the event marking UFC’s long-awaited return to Colorado, the state where UFC debuted more than 15 years ago – is officially sold out. The UFC and Spike TV also announced the April 2 card will expand to three hours, the first time in three years for a UFC Fight Night, because of the stacked card and lineup of prominent fighters I knew that bringing the UFC back to the state of Colorado would be big,” said Dana White, UFC President. “But thanks to our fight fans in Broomfield and Denver and all across Colorado, this is going to be one of our best UFC Fight Night events ever. Not only is it going to air as a three-hour special on Spike TV, it will also be a house packed with UFC fans ready for great fights. I’m looking forward to April 2, and can’t wait to bring this great fight card to Mile High City.”
“We are pleased to be the site of this major sporting event and know that the Colorado fight fans are in for a great time,” said Gene Felling, Executive Vice President of Broomfield Sports and Entertainment and General Manager of Broomfield Event Center.
The Road Back
August 25 is a day that Josh Koscheck would like to forget.
Four months earlier at UFC 69, Kos dominated the once-darling of the welterweight division, Diego Sanchez, to firmly establish himself among the 170-lb elite. He used his world-class wrestling skills to keep the fight on the feet and relied on his rapidly improving standup to pick apart the former TUF winner.
UFC® AND JOE HAND PROMOTIONS EXTEND AGREEMENT
Joe Hand Promotions Remains Exclusive Distributor of UFC® Events on Closed Circuit TV/Pay-Per-View for all Commercial Establishments
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Joe Hand Promotions, Inc. and Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) organization today announced a multi-year extension of their closed circuit television/pay per view agreement. The deal maintains Joe Hand Promotions as the exclusive commercial distributor in the United States for the UFC, the premiere brand in the sport of mixed martial arts, through 2009.
Ray Sefo Turns Down Fight with Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic
K-1 fighter Ray Sefo (1-0) turned down an offer to fight former UFC heavyweight Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (22-6-2) at next month’s DREAM show in Japan.
The report also confirmed that Sefo, as well as super-heavyweight Jan Nortje (who defeated Bob Sapp in the main event of this past weekend’s “Strikeforce at the Dome” show), have both joined Xtreme Couture’s fight team.
Sefo turned downed the fight because he would have had just weeks to prepare for it.
Sefo, 37, owns a mere 1-0 professional MMA record after defeating Min Soo Kim with a second-round KO at a 2005 K-1 HERO’S show. However, the New Zealand native is most noted as a kickboxer (53-17-1 record) and a five-time Muay Thai world champ.
note i highlighted the reason he didnt take the fight, just becuase i know people would start talking smack and whatnot, if you dont know who ray sefo is, watch his fight in K1 against mark hunt, or against jerome lebanner.
New Arlovski Article
this puts no doubt in my mind that arlovski is going to win, in fact arlovski is the slightly bigger of the 2 being 6'4 240 o'brian being 6'3 240, and we all know arlovski is the stronger more muscular of the 2 so look for arlovski to be pushing the pace, sprawling, brawling, looking for a new contract and a future in the UFC as motivation for an exciting fight, how is this not on the main card?
does anyone know how i can watch this fight live?
Joe Riggs to Undergo Procedure For Back

UFC 85: Mike Swick vs. Marcus Davis (Exclusive
Exciting welterweights Mike Swick and Marcus Davis will likely throw leather at UFC 85 in London, England, at the O2 Arena on Saturday, June 7, MMAmania.com learned earlier this afternoon.
Swick and Davis have competed on different seasons of the mixed martial arts reality series, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), which airs on the SpikeTV network. And both fighters have achieved impressive results inside the Octagon since their respective seasons have wrapped.
In fact, Davis has reeled off 11 straight wins since his loss to Melvin Guillard via technical knockout (cut) back in 2005. He has won his last four contests, stopping each of those opponents with a mix of submissions and knockouts.
This will mark the third straight fight for the “Irish Hand Grenade” overseas — he most recently knocked out Jess Liaudin in the first round at UFC 80: “Rapid Fire” on January 19.
Evan Tanner – MMA’s Maverick is Back
Evan Tanner’s boat had sunk – literally. A former UFC middleweight champion and one of the organization’s most popular fighters ever since he made his debut in the Octagon at UFC 18 back in 1999, Tanner had been out of action since an April 2006 win over Justin Levens, and by late 2007, his life was careening out of control, a journey he documented on the internet.
In September of last year though, he got the sign he needed that the way he was living wasn’t productive and that he needed to make a change. It was a painful sign, as the 1939 sailboat he owned proved to be far from seaworthy, and it sunk in Mission Bay in California.

Gary Goodridge "Kimbo Slice is a 2008 version of Mr. T"
Gary Goodridge appeared on Fight Network Radio and had some unpleasant things to say about Kimbo Slice and also indicated that he would be more than willing to fight Kimbo:
“‘Kimbo Slice’ is a 2008 version of ‘Mr. T,’” Goodridge told Fight Network Radio. “Was ‘Mr. T’ tough back then? No. Could he beat anybody back then? No, but he had the words, he had the lyrics, and he had the gold.”
“Don’t come out telling people that you’re ‘Street Certified,’ that you can walk on the streets and punch out anybody, any man … you’re not afraid of nobody,” Goodridge said. “Man, I know people that will put him down and spank his ass.”
Leben Ready To Swim In The Deep Water
Having gone from top Middleweight contender before running into Anderson Silva to down and almost out of UFC and back, Chris Leben looks to build on his latest winning streak and new UFC contract by taking on Alessio Sakara this Saturday at UFC 82.
Canadian Fighter Died Of Natural Causes

The Assassin’ Returns on April 2nd
With two spectacular wins over Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara, Houston Alexander was the breakout star of 2007. Now, after suffering the first loss of his UFC career last November to Thiago Silva, ‘The Assassin’ is on the comeback trail and he will look to get back in the win column on April 2nd when he takes on James Irvin on Spike TV’s latest UFC Fight Night card.
Is BJ Penn the future of the UFC Lightweight Division?
BJ Penn is the current UFC Lightweight Champion when he defeated Joe Stevenson at UFC 80: Rapid Fire. He is one of the most talented fighters ever to grace the octagon. Is BJ really the future of a division as deep and talented as the UFC’s 155 lb division?
Written by yours truly! What do you all think? I spent quite a bit of time on it but please let me know your thoughts!
Halverson Eager to Make Good on His Second Shot in the UFC
19 seconds. That’s all it took for Roger Huerta to hand John Halverson his first UFC loss back in February of 2007, and while losing to the rising lightweight star is something that was experienced by 21 other mixed martial artists, the UFC 67 bout seemed almost too frantic, too fast to get a read on Halverson as a fighter on this level, and more than anyone, he knew it.
Hermes Franca Released from UFC Contract
Former UFC lightweight contender Hermes Franca has been released from his contract with the UFC, the 33-year-old confirmed in a recent message-board posting.
Franca expects to return to competition in July when his current one-year suspension ends.
