Bellator 84 lineup complete with two tourney finals, eight prelims
The scrapping of a planned featherweight tournament final leaves Friday's Bellator 84 season finale official with three main-card bouts, plus eight prelims. Rad Martinez (14-2 MMA, 4-0 BFC) vs. Shahbulat Shamhalaev (11-1-1 MMA, 2-0 BFC) was moved off this past Friday's Bellator 83 event when Shamhalaev got food poisoning. The bout held a hopeful spot at Bellator 84 this week, but Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney on Tuesday said he spoke too soon when announcing it this past week.
Six years later, 'TUF: Brazil 2' coach Nogueira expecting different Werdum
To put it simply, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-7-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) knows Fabricio Werdum (16-5-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) is not the same man he faced in 2006 – not even close. So when the two meet this summer following a stint as opposing coaches on "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2," Nogueira said he's expecting a completely different fight. "Each fight is different," Nogueira told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "I know it's not going to be the same fight. I don't think it's going to come to boxing like the last fight."
With no time to screw around, TUF 16 Finale's Pyle plans to be 'serious threat'
"It was just a mental thing for me," Pyle said. "There were things that weren't right in my camp that I was unhappy about, and I brought that to the fight with me. It was an amateur move for being in the game as long as I have. It just didn't even seem like I was there fighting. The fire was gone. "No excuses. The kid caught me and stung me pretty good, and the next thing I know they were pulling him off of me. I thought I was OK in that turtle position, but I look back at the film, and I was on my way out. It was a fair stoppage, no doubt. No complaints. No excuses. I just mentally f---ed myself in that fight."

Seven-Time UFC Veteran Mark Hominick Retires
Ten-year MMA veteran Mark Hominick (20-12 MMA, 3-4 UFC) has competed for the last time. The 30-year-old Canadian and Shawn Tompkins protege announced on Tuesday's new edition of FUEL TV's "UFC Tonight" that he's hanging up the gloves in favor of chasing other options. "I truly got to live my passion and follow my dreams by competing in mixed martial arts, especially under the Zuffa banner, but UFC 154, that's the last fight I'll be in the octagon, as I'm retiring and looking to move on to the next phase of my career," Hominick said. Hominick actually made his UFC in March 2006, when he claimed a submission win over Yves Edwards. He returned in June of that year with a decision win over Jorge Gurgel. Hominick then transitioned to the WEC, where he fought five times before returning to the UFC octagon. The high point of Hominick's UFC career came at April 2011's UFC 129 event, where he fought valiantly in front of a Canadian crowd during a failed title bid against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Despite sporting a massive hematoma, Hominick pushed until the final bell, and a UFC record 55,724 fans rose to their feet in appreciation of his effort. The decision loss was the last time he would step in to the cage with his longtome trainer and friend Tompkins, who passed away unexpectedly in August 2011. Hominick returned to action at December 2011's UFC 140, but a reckless attack led to a stunning seven-second loss to Chan Sung Jung. Hominick would go on to drop decision losses to Pablo Garza and Eddie Yagin and finish his career on a disappointing four-fight losing streak.

Josh Koscheck: 'Rory MacDonald should fight me, but I doubt the UFC wants to see him get his ass kicked'
Rory MacDonald is the cat's meow at 170 pounds, but don't expect any bowls of milk from former division number one contender Josh Koscheck, who offered to fight "Ares" following his win over B.J. Penn at UFC on FOX 5 last Saturday night in Seattle. Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight prospect Rory MacDonald put the screws to B.J. Penn in a lopsided affair as part of the UFC on FOX 5 main card held last Saturday night (Dec. 8, 2012) at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. Josh Koscheck was not impressed. In fact, the former division number one contender went so far as to say "Ares" should step up and face him inside the Octagon -- though he doubts their employer would be willing to expose the young buck in a showdown opposite the longtime veteran.
