His future seemingly more secure after his last win in November, Kendall Grove has now signed a new multi-fight extension with UFC. The TUF 3 winner is expected to return to action in early 2010.

Penn at UFC 107, Diego Sanchez says he is already 90 percent healed.The lightweight contender was tagged with a loss at UFC 107 after suffering a busted lip, facial cuts and a deep forehead gash that prompted a fifth-round TKO stoppage in the pay-per-view-televised main event.
Brian Foster named replacement, fights Chris Lytle at UFC 110 in Australia
With Dong Hyun Kim (12-0-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) forced out of the fight with a knee injury, Chris Lytle (27-17-5 MMA, 6-9 UFC) instead meets Brian Foster (13-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 110.Foster posted news of the matchup on MySpace, though MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) could not immediately reach Lytle's camp for confirmation.
Dana White ready to bring the excitement of big fights back to Boston
UFC President Dana White is ready to return home to Boston -- complete with his MMA empire and rabid fan base. The state of Massachusetts recently approved a bill to afford regulation for the sport of mixed martial arts and the Zuffa brass wasted no time in lining up an August 28 date at the TD BankNorth Garden for their Beantown debut. White also promised the show to end all shows. If that's the case, what can we expect for the August mega-event? Fan Expo? Five title fights? The return of Brock Lesnar? Let the speculation begin...

WEC 45 ratings,Down 21%
This past weekend's broadcast of "WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff" on Versus drew a 0.4 household rating and averaged 330,000 viewers, Versus officials today confirmed with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). The event took place Dec. 19 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The show featured a non-title headliner and few of the organization's top stars. Additionally, the event went head-to-head with "Strikeforce: Evolution" on Showtime. Therefore, it's not surprising that ratings were down 21 percent compared to the two most recent WEC-Versus broadcasts.

When Rashad Evans meets Thiago Silva next week in the UFC 108 headliner, he knows both contenders are fighting for the same thing. They both a want a shot to avenge an earlier loss while striking gold in the light-heavyweight division, which is currently ruled by champion Lyoto Machida. "It's like a race for who gets back to Machida," Evans said. Machida knocked out Silva in January and then stopped then-champ Evans in his next bout to claim the 205-pound title. Since then, the undefeated Brazilian has defended his belt against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and now ranks among the world's top pound-for-pound best. So what can we expect from Evans vs. Silva?
Report: Jon Jones Loses Appeal on Matt Hamill Fight
Jon Jones' appeal to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to overturn referee Steve Mazagatti's decision in his bout against Matt Hamill earlier this month has been denied. The NSAC stated that they don't overturn decisions and decided against ruling on the appeal.
Baroni plans time off, return unknown
33-year-old welterweight Phil Baroni is in Hawaii and planning to take time off from competition to rest and evaluate a new approach to MMA. Despite several reports, Baroni said he has not agreed to fight Marcus Davis at UFC 111 on March 27 in Newark, N.J. The Long Island, N.Y. native said he wanted to move from his adopted home of Las Vegas to experience different training camps, most notably, a possible permanent move to San Jose, Calif. for a permanent residence with American Kickboxing Academy. In the past, Baroni has trained often with the camp for hard sparring.

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) was not amused by his stunt and fined "King Mo" for his attempts at "having fun." Anyone out there in MMA land offended by his colorful entrances and outspoken persona?

What do you do when you have two guys who can't win big fights but who always put on entertaining matches? Throw 'em in a cage together and hope for a Fight of the Night, obviously. According to MMA Mania, Phil Baroni and Marcus Davis have verbally agreed to whip the New Jersey crowd into a frenzy at UFC 111 (March 27th, Newark), supporting a card that will feature Georges St. Pierre vs. Dan Hardy and (hopefully) Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin.
Showtime Says SF Challengers 6 On For 1/22, SF Says It's Off
So who's right? In this case, Strikeforce. Despite recent rumors of a Jan. 22 date–and an official mention of the card on this past Saturday's "Evolution" broadcast–Strikeforce will not be hosting a "Challengers Series" event prior to its Jan. 30 "Strikeforce: Miami" event. SF's Mike Afromowitz confirmed today the 1/22 date was simply "under consideration" and SF will now focus all it's efforts on the 1/30 card to air on Showtime.

The Coming Asian MMA "Revolution"
The more any culture or nationality opens up to MMA, the better it will be for the sport. While Japan has not only been open, but also a pioneer in MMA, many other Asian countries have yet to embrace in the sport. There is limited participants from China, Korea's home market has slightly stagnated and while Thailand is faithful to their form of boxing, they aren't about to make Bangkok an Asian MMA capital any time soon. UFC Vet Harold Howard Arrested in Niagara Falls, Ontario
St Catherine Standard - Police say a 51-year-old assault suspect deliberately crashed his pickup truck through the front entrance of Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, ending a pursuit through Niagara Falls city streets early Tuesday morning. Niagara Regional Police say the male had been involved in a dispute at a residence in Niagara Falls in which a male and a female were assaulted with a weapon before he sped off in his vehicle. The male then attended another residence in the north end of Niagara Falls where he collided with a vehicle in the driveway. The male then fled that residence in his vehicle.
