Rafael Nunes says injury, illness takes him out of ONE Championship 27 vs. Eddie Ng
Rafael Nunes was anxious to get back to work since sitting on the sidelines since this past July. But now he’ll have to wait a little longer. Nunes (10-1) was set to face Eddie Ng (7-2) later this month at ONE Championship 27. Instead, an injury and illness has knocked him out of the fight, he told MMAjunkie. Nunes said a clavicle injury happened first, but it wouldn’t necessarily have kept him from the lightweight bout. But then the Brazilian came down with dengue fever, he said – a mosquito-borne virus.

UFC Fight Night 65 post-fight facts: Stipe Miocic's 361 total strikes set UFC record
After a record-setting night of finishes during the UFC’s previous event in Australia, UFC Fight Night 65 turned out to be a worthy encore and produced 10 stoppages in 12 fights at Adelaide Entertainment Center. A first-round knockout opened Saturday’s card, but Stipe Miocic (13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) closed it out with a drawn-own beatdown of Mark Hunt (10-10-1 MMA, 5-4-1 UFC) in the heavyweight main event. It was a noncompetitive bout in which Miocic battered Hunt with a record amount of strikes before the referee stepped in to award the TKO win in Round 5. Miocic wasn’t the only one to make history in Adelaide, though. Check out 50 post-fight facts to come out of UFC Fight Night 65...

Instead of asking Mark Hunt if he wanted to stop, officials should have forced him to
In retrospect, the doctor should have been a clue. The doctor meant well. The doctor was a great big red flag. It happened between the fourth and fifth rounds in the headliner of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 65 event at Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Standing over the series of misshapen lumps that had very recently resembled Mark Hunt, this cageside doctor leaned in close and asked, “Mark, can you honestly see?”

Stipe Miocic: ‘I Have Better Stand-Up’ Than Mark Hunt
Two top five-ranked heavyweights headline Saturday’s (Sunday local time) UFC Fight Night 65: Miocic vs. Hunt at Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Australia. Fourth-ranked Stipe Miocic (12-2) takes on fifth-ranked Mark Hunt (10-9-1) in the fight card’s featured attraction, and the bout carries title contender implications. Eight of Miocic’s twelve wins are by knockout, while seven of Hunt’s victories are by knockout. Hunt, a former kickboxing world champion, is known for his ability to end a fight with one shot, but Miocic isn’t worried about his opponent’s punching power...
