UFC champ Johnson: 25-minute fight 'takes a real man and a man with balls'
(mmajunkie.com) Back to training after a serious shoulder injury, Demetrious Johnson (17-2-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC) aims to exhaust John Moraga (12-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) when they meet at UFC on FOX 8, which takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena.
"I would prefer to go five rounds to see if he can go that far," Johnson recently said.
A torn labrum forced the UFC flyweight champion to withdraw from a headlining fight this past month against Moraga at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, but it didn't stop him from staying in shape.
Now, he wants to see whether Moraga has the gas to keep up with him.
UFC returning to Brazil for Fox Sports 1 event on September 4th, likely to be used as TUF 18 lead-in

Brazilian magazine Tatame originally reported the story, although it's not yet been confirmed. It should be noted that in a recent interview with our own Steph Daniels, UFC commentator Jon Anik made reference to this rumored event with the date included.
Akira Corassani wants Conor McGregor at UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 in Boston
(mmajunkie.com) UFC President Dana White wants Irish featherweight Conor McGregor (13-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) to be part of the UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 card in Boston. And one fighter is campaigning for the matchup.
On Sunday "The Ultimate Fighter 14" cast member Akira Corassani (11-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) stated his case for the fight.
The event takes place at Aug. 17 at Boston's TD Garden, and it marks the UFC's debut on the soon-to-debut FOX Sports 1.
'Fight Master: Bellator MMA' cast unveiled with Riggs, Lozano and 30 others
(mmajunkie.com) The debut season of "Fight Master: Bellator MMA" debuts June 19 on Spike TV, and the organization has unveiled the cast of 32 welterweights who will compete in the show's tournament.
Many familiar names are part of the cast, which features Randy Couture, Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Joe Warren as coaches.
The show, which debuts at 10 p.m. ET/PT with announcer Jimmy Smith as its host, airs weekly, and the eventual tourney winner earns $100,000. Unlike the UFC's similar and popular reality series, "The Ultimate Fighter," Bellator fighters get to choose their own coaches and opponents on the show.
"Fight Master: Bellator MMA" Season 1 features 10 episodes, including an opening three that feature qualifying bouts. The series concludes with a live finale, and the winner will get a berth into a future Bellator tourney.
Notable cast members include the likes of Mike Bronzoulis, Chris Lozano, Joe Riggs, Bryan Travers, Artenas Young and others.

Alvarez blames Viacom execs, not 'grunt' Rebney
(bloodyelbow.com) After a couple months where it seemed a settlement was a possibility, Bellator and Eddie Alvarez have decided that a trial is the only way to settle their dispute. Earlier this week, the promotion's CEO Bjorn Rebney revealed that despite resolution seeming possible only a month ago, "everything went real dark." It didn't take long after that for Alvarez to get on Twitter to reiterate that settlement was no longer a possibility and he wanted to "let the truth come out."
Friday night, Alvarez followed that rant with another that showed his real problem isn't with Rebney, but the bosses at Viacom and Spike TV:
