Jason "Mayhem" Miller Arrested Inside Church BUCK NAKED
(tmz.com)
Recently-axed UFC fighter Jason "Mayhem" Miller was arrested today in Orange County, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly breaking into a church, spraying a fire extinguisher all over the place, and getting buck naked. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the O.C. Sheriff's Office received a call early this morning from the Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo about a possible burglary in progress. When the deputies arrived, we're told they found the first and second floors covered in white fire extinguisher spray. Cops say the place was also trashed -- scattered CDs, books, and broken pictures. When officers reached the second floor, we're told they found Miller naked on some couch -- totally awake and coherent...

UFC 150 results, analysis, bonuses: Champ Henderson ekes out split decision vs. Edgar
(mmajunkie.com)
At least on the scorecards, Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar II was closer than the first. But in the end, two of three judges scored the bout in favor of champ Henderson, who defended his title for the first time in another close fight with Edgar. The bout served as the main event of Saturday's UFC 150 event at Pepsi Center in Denver. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook. The audience erupted in boos at the announcement of the decision, which was read 49-46 in favor of Edgar and 48-47 twice for Henderson. "Of course, you're always concerned whenever it goes to the judges," the champ defended as the audience voiced its displeasure. "I fight for all MMA and UFC fans. I come here and bring it! I try to finish fights!" Disgust turned to dejection for Edgar as he was asked for his reaction to the score. "It don't matter," Edgar said after an ovation from the crowd. "I thought I brought it to him."

Dana White Confirms Nate Diaz To Get Next Shot At Lightweight Title
(bloodyelbow.com)
Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar will fight once again for the Lightweight title in the main event of UFC 150. The two first met at UFC 144 in Japan where Henderson was able to win the title with a decision victory. However, because the fight was so close, Dana White granted Frankie Edgar a rematch for the chance to regain his title. This will be Edgar's third rematch since winning the title from B.J. Penn at UFC 112. Henderson will attempt to solidify his title claim tonight at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. The main card starts at 10 PM EST (7 PM PST) on Pay-Per-View. This will be Edgar's third rematch since winning the title from B.J. Penn at UFC 112. In fact, Ben Henderson is only his third new opponent in the last two and a half years. This became a source of controversy when the tonight's rematch was announced. Many wanted a fresh opponent for Henderson simply to keep the division progressing and didn't want to risk and Edgar win leading to a subsequent rubber match. Last night, Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting caught up with Dana White after the UFC 150 weigh-ins. Dana White assured that, regardless of the outcome tonight, there would be no immediate third fight between the two. Instead, the UFC will fulfill their promise to Nate Diaz.

Massachusetts commission reviews controversial bout, will discuss rule changes
(mmajunkie.com)
The Massachusetts State Athletic Commission said it will look into modifying its rules following a controversial amateur bout that took place in April. "The commission agreed it deserves careful examination," Terrel Harris, a spokesperson for the MSAC, on Friday wrote in an email to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). At a meeting planned for October, the commission's medical advisory board is expected to offer an opinion on whether a "per se rule" is needed to immediately end matches in which a fighter loses consciousness from a submission hold. A per se rule is defined as a generalized rule applied without consideration for specific circumstances. The commission addressed the amateur fight during a meeting on Thursday and decided that further review was necessary. The bout at the center of the debate took place April 20 at a commission-sanctioned event held in Chicopee, Mass., called "Warrior Nation Xtreme Fighters Alliance: Warrior Nation III." The bantamweight contest took a bizarre turn after one combatant, Justin Kristie, applied a triangle choke that caused his opponent, David Baxter, to perform what appeared to be a tapping motion and then go unconscious at the end of the first round...

MFC 34: Total Recall Weigh-In Results
(prommanow.com)
The Maximum Fighting Championship’s main event for MFC 34: Total Recall has been reduced to a three-round, non-title affair after Adam Lynn missed weight during the official weigh-in. Lynn (17-9) was set to meet rival Mukai Maromo (7-2) for the vacant MFC lightweight title in a rematch of their contentious, controversial original bout from MFC 33 which Maromo took by a hotly disputed split-decision verdict. But Lynn, the former U.S. Marine, failed to make the 155-pound limit, stepping off the scale at 156.6 pounds. Maromo was on the money for his efforts at 154 pounds.

NSAC's Keith Kizer: 'No Way' for Alistair Overeem to Apply Early for License
(mmafighting.com)
Speaking optimistically about his future, Alistair Overeem said on Thursday night's MMA Uncensored Live on Spike TV that he and his team would soon go in front of the Nevada state athletic commission (NSAC) with hopes of receiving a conditional license for a possible Dec. 29 heavyweight title fight against champion Junior dos Santos. He even went so far as to say that a date for the meeting had been tentatively set, but not confirmed. This came as news to the commission's executive director, Keith Kizer, on Friday morning, who told MMA Fighting that while NSAC will hold its regular monthly meeting on August 24, Overeem is not among the scheduled topics of discussion. In fact, he said, he hasn't even heard from anyone in Overeem's camp about putting him on the docket. "That must be wishful thinking," he said. "He will not be on the agenda." Furthermore, Kizer said under existing state statutes, Overeem would not be able to apply for a license until December 27, making his eligibility for a fight two days later a near-impossibility. In effect, Kizer said, there is no legal way to grant him an early hearing. "I see no way to do that. I know of none," he said. "But even if the commission had some discretion to grant some waiver of time, I personally don't see this as the case. I'd be against that. There is some discretion at the commission level, but I don't think this is the case to use that discretion. This is not just a guy who engaged in cheating, but a guy who ran out the front door when the testing was being done."

Report: B.J. Penn Vs. Rory MacDonald Set For UFC On Fox 5
(bloodyelbow.com)
Tonight on MMA Uncensored, after addressing Jon Fitch's comments about Penn, Nate Quarry had a startling revelation:

Oh my God, talk about a ridiculous thing to say - calling B.J. Penn a "coward". We're talking about B.J., who was the Lightweight champion, who also fought Machida at Light Heavy weight, so he moved up 50 lbs. to fight Machida. Machida, who was undefeated at the time, just knocked out Rich Franklin, just knocked out Stephan Bonnar. B.J. Penn goes to fight him because he's a fighter. That's what he wants to do. Fitch calling B.J. a "coward" is just Fitch trying to get the attention. Fitch trying to hype himself into another big fight, because the Rory MacDonald fight got postponed. And we have it on good authority, my insider has told me, that that fight has been set for the Fox card in December. So we're gonna get that fight.
If Quarry's source is correct, this fight is a huge gain for the UFC On Fox 5 card.

Firas Zahabi: Georges St-Pierre told me he wants to fight Anderson Silva
(mmatorch.com)
Today’s “The MMA Show with Mauro Ranallo” podcast featured an interview with Firas Zahabi, head trainer at TriStar gym, who talked about a prospective super fight between Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva. “Georges St-Pierre told me he wants (to fight Anderson Silva). But right now he has to get back on the horse and fight Carlos Condit and be champion again. He needs to keep focused. “(If the Silva fight happens) ideally I’d like a catch weight. I think it’d be more fair. If you fight at a catch weight, Silva won’t be 20 pounds heavier. 177 or 178 pounds is much more fair.” - Firas Zahabi to Mauro Ranallo on The MMA Show

Roy Nelson on 'TUF 16' drama: Dana White 'wants to be a fighter, and he's not'
( mmajunkie.com)
It sure didn't take long for Roy Nelson to make waves on the set of "The Ultimate Fighter 16." UFC President Dana White said this past week that the "TUF 10" winner and coach of the reality show's latest installment was already creating trouble in his new role. "It's probably because he wants to be a fighter, and he's not," Nelson countered in a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "The first day, as soon as we start filming, he starts shooting his mouth off and saying dumb [expletive]," White said.

Jon Fitch Calls B.J. Penn a 'Coward,' Says He's Not Welcome at AKA
(mmafighting.com)
Jon Fitch clearly still wants a rematch with B.J. Penn. And he doesn't want the future UFC Hall of Famer anywhere near the American Kickboxing Academy gym. The veteran welterweight is scheduled to face up-and-coming star Erick Silva at UFC 153 in Brazil on Oct. 13, but the San Jose, Calif.-based fighter wants another crack at the former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion, whom he fought to a majority draw in 2011. On Tuesday, Fitch used a conference call designed to push AKA's new "Fight Factory" reality series on Nuvo TV to dog Penn, calling him a "coward."

Hector Lombard Says He Fought Injured Against Tim Boetsch at UFC 149
(mmaweekly.com)
Former Bellator champion turned UFC middleweight Hector Lombard has now revealed he wasn’t nearly 100-percent as he headed into his Octagon debut against Tim Boetsch at UFC 149. Following a lackluster performance that saw him come out on the losing end of a decision to Boetsch in July, Lombard now says that he actually went into the fight quite injured. The injury will now force him to sit out an additional six-weeks before returning to training. “I want to let all my fans know. I fought my last fight injured. I wasnt 100% sure but I went to the doctors, I have a fracture sternum with a torn cartilage,” Lombard wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
