UFC on Versus 5 gets last-minute TV partner in U.K. with Premier Sports TV
Sunday's UFC on Versus 5 event will air live in the U.K. after all. UFC officials today announced that Premier Sports TV channel 433 will show the event live. Officials from the UFC's usual TV outlet – the premium-cable channel ESPN UK – recently announced they won't be carrying the Aug. 14 event, and other future events could be affected. (ESPN UK doesn't have the rights to air Versus events and must negotiated them on an event-by-event basis.) Prior to the addition of Premier Sports TV, which will air the event in free-view mode, UFC officials planned to stream the entire card in the U.K. via UFC.tv. Premier Sports is available on the Sky platform, though Virgin and Freeview customers still will need to use the free UFC.tv. stream as an alternative since they don't have access to Premier Sports.
FORMER M-1 EXEC: Dana White is 100% Correct
I left M1 and it was amicable, but there was a huge amount of money still owed to me for the M1 Series production. I was told I would be taken care of, and I never was. A portion of the money owed was supposed to be for the M1 commentators, Jimmy Smith and Sean Wheelock. They were never paid by M-1, so I paid them out of my own pocket." "I'm selling these tapes as a way to recoup the substantial amount of money that is owned to me. M1 didn't pay the invoices and the past year and a half they've been giving me BS excuses. I know financially things aren't well for them, but this is a complete reflection of M1. "This is not aimed to hurt Fedor Emelianenko in anyway. He's been completely mismanaged. I hate to say that Dana White is right, but he's 100% right with most of the comments he's made towards M-1. They unfortunately ruined Fedor's career. Can it be salvaged? Sure. But M1 as a management company is ridiculous.
Strikeforce exec denies Marloes Coenen's claims of fight week mistreatment
As a former Strikeforce champion, Marloes Coenen is understandably upset at the promotion for cutting her following a title-bout loss to Miesha Tate at this past month's "Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Henderson" event. But as a Strikeforce executive, former WEC boss Reed Harris doesn't understand why she's not being exactly truthful about the circumstances surrounding her release. "When I read [what Coenen told MMAjunkie.com], I thought, 'Wow, there's some motive behind this because to take that situation and turn it around is just not right,'" Harris told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). Earlier this week, Coenen told MMAjunkie.com that she sensed a brewing issue even before her fight. The Golden Glory product was conspicuously absent from the July 30 event's pre-fight press conference, and she seemed to suggest that was no accident. "We wanted to go with somebody else, and they said, 'No, no, you don't have to come any more. It's already done and you can stay [at the hotel],'" Coenen said. "Really weird to me because you don't leave the champion out of the press conference. If you say you will leave at 10 o'clock, you won't leave at 9:55. That happened throughout the entire week, that kind of stuff." Harris, who was actually driving the vehicle Coenen was expected to take from her Hoffman Estates hotel to the downtown Chicago press conference, said her recounting of the situation wasn't exactly accurate...

UFC on Versus 6: Cruz may be disrepected but he'll benefit too
I'm sure Dana White and the geniuses at UFC knew what they were doing, and I'm sure they're aware of the interest this fight will raise in these newly added divisions. Aldo and Florian are helping to ease the WEC transition by pitting perennial contender KFlo against the WEC Black House Powerhouse. The UFC on Versus Card will lay the groundwork for this card to capitalize on new interest. Cruz and Johnson should be applauded because not only are they giving us, the fans a great main event for a decent and FREE card but because they are helping their fellow division fighters. I'm sure in the next year we will see more of them on main cards as opposed to watching Chad Mendes v Rani Yahya as a prelim. I mean when was the last time you saw someone earn a title shot on an under card?
Dana White: Flyweight Division Isn't Likely Until Early 2012
The possible formation of a UFC flyweight division has been a hot topic as of late. A couple of months ago Dana White went on record saying that they were going to go forward with the creation of the division, and they were already looking at signing talent. After watching the Tachi Palace Fights 10 card last weekend (or trying to anyway - the stream dropped more than the Dow Jones has lately), it became readily apparently that these guys could be very popular in the UFC.
Jim Miller Wants His Corner to Have to Carry Him Out
UFC lightweight contender Jim Miller, who co-headlines this Sunday's UFC on Versus 5 against Ben Henderson, spoke to Sherdog's Jack Encarnacao about his fighting philosophy, his family, and how his low-key personality may have hindered his ascension to a title shot. On leaving it all in the Octagon: "I want my corner to have to carry me out of the Octagon," he says. "That’s what I’m searching for; that’s what I’m fighting for -- is that level. Just to lay it all out there, to actually give 100 percent in 15 minutes. To me, if I go out and I fight and put everything I have into it, I can be satisfied with a loss. "One thing I don’t understand is when guys go to a decision and are hopping around afterwards, doing push-ups, doing all this stuff after they just lost the decision," Jim adds. "In my mind, I’m not going to be proud of myself if I go 15 or 25 minutes and lose and still have something in the tank."
Chris Lytle Will Give Dan Hardy the Fight He Deserves
This Sunday night, Chris “Lights Out” Lytle (30-18-5) will make his twentieth appearance in the Octagon when he meets Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy (23-9) in the main event for UFC on Versus 5 in Milwaukee. Since Lytle’s UFC debut in 2000 at UFC 28, the Indianapolis native has had mixed success in facing some of the sport’s finest athletes. However, it is his fighting spirit, matched with his crowd-pleasing style and determination that has captivated UFC audiences for over a decade. With Lytle’s exciting style of brawling and his British counterpart’s style of striking, it’s no secret that this fight has all the potential to be the fight of the night. The UFC quickly recognized the potential for excitement, and decided that this fight would be best suited as the main event.

UFC Quick Quote: Rory MacDonald will gladly fight Jon Fitch but really wants Carlos Condit rematch
"I'll fight anyone. A lot of people don't want to fight Jon Fitch, but I'll gladly fight him (or) anybody. I'd really like to rematch Carlos Condit, though. [I'd take that fight] 100-percent. I feel like I can beat anyone, that's my confidence. But I know I'm a young guy, I know I have to stay grounded and improve. There's still so much to learn, I'm still very young, I still have so much time to evolve." - Rory MacDonald EDIT:

With bantamweight title shot against Dominick Cruz looming, Demetrious Johnson facing questions of moving to flyweight
At UFC on Versus 6, Demetrious Johnson will square off agianst Dominick Cruz for the bantamweight championship. Despite this, the former is still facing questions regarding his admittedly smaller physique and future fight plans, most notably whether or not he's a natural flyweight and if he's planning to drop down once the UFC adds that division to its active roster. MMANation.com caught up with "Mighty Mouse" so he could give his take on the matter. Video interviews with Mighty Mouse, Dominick Cruz, and Mike Easton in Playground videos section.
