T.J. Grant working in mine, talks return to mma
UFC Lightweight T.J. Grant talks to the about having to get a job in the mean time; where's he's at physically and the chances of him making a return to the sport. Despite his hiatus from mixed martial arts, T.J. Grant is still fighting the good fight. The former No. 1 contender for the UFC lightweight title hasn’t competed in two years after suffering a concussion in a training mishap. With his career on hold, Grant eventually had to seek other means to support his family, electing to take a job at the K+S potash mine near Bethune.

Friday Boxing on Spike vs Saturday UFC on Fox Sports 1 Ratings
Last weekend’s welterweight showdown between Amir Khan and Chris Algieri generated over one million viewers, according to a statement released Tuesday by Spike TV, the network that broadcast the fight. The highest point of the telecast was during the 11:00-11:15 p.m. ET quarter hour, netting 1,120,000 viewers. It was a busy weekend for combat sports on US television, and the Nielsen ratings are now in for Saturday's UFC Fight Night in Brazil, as well as Friday's Premier Boxing Champions special on Spike TV. According to The MMA Report's Jason Floyd, the UFC on Fox Sports 1 card headlined by Carlos Condit vs. Thiago Alves attracted an average of 813,000 viewers, making it the 4th highest viewed out of the 7 Fight Nights aired since the start of the year. Preliminary card figures were just 100,000 viewer at 713k. There's no word yet on the official peak viewership.
