Holly Holm signs with the UFC
The UFC has signed former professional boxer and undefeated female bantamweight Holly Holm to a contract, president Dana White announced on Thursday.
"I'm excited," White told ESPN.com. "I like the fact we keep bringing in more talent.
"With women or men, I never know what to think until I see them fight in the UFC. It's such a different dynamic fighting here. There's no doubt she's talented and she has a lot of followers. People are excited to see her."
White did not know when Holm might make her UFC debut. Holm (7-0) made her professional MMA debut in March 2011.
As a pro boxer, she won multiple world titles while amassing a career record of 33-2-3 with nine knockouts. Six of her seven wins in MMA have come via knockout, including a fifth-round finish over Juliana Werner for the Legacy FC women's bantamweight title in April.
Holm, 32, trains out of Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
