Benson Henderson Addresses The Fans On Finishing Rate
I know I’m not the best (yet, ;-D), I was never the fastest, or strongest, or most athletic, or most technical or anything like that. Go ahead and ask any of my high school or college wrestling coaches. I was never picked 1st in dodgeball or basketball or soccer or football games growing up but one thing I always had was the will power and determination to NEVER give up, to not be afraid to open up my heart and give all of myself, to not hold anything back for the swim back to shore.
Joanne Calderwood would be pleased to fight anyone, even the best MMA fighter in the world
Joanne Calderwood's been in the news a lot recently with her latest fight announcement and her signing a 6 fight contract to Invicta and earlier on today, MMA Mental were able to get her thoughts in an interview:
On Sally Krumpier:
“I was just going to get the win whether it was in the first round, second round or whenever... I expected it to go more to the decision...”
“Everything I’m doing in my training, this is my full time job, and I’m here to show that in the cage”
On her new 6 fight contract with Invicta:
Fresh off sweep, Team Alpha Male's Duane Ludwig enjoying life more as trainer than fighter
It should have been a given that Duane Ludwig would get quick results. His nickname, after all, is "Bang," a moniker he earned even before his record-setting, six-second knockout in 2006. As a trainer, he's made immediate strides with his new camp, the Sacramento, California-based Team Alpha Male. Hired in December 2012, Ludwig recently went through the process of training several charges for the first full camp, including a trio that prepared for fights at last weekend's UFC on FOX 7.
The result? Three first-round TKOs predicated on strikes...
Signal to Noise: UFC on FOX 7's best and worst
There was much to love about UFC on FOX 7. The card itself delivered in almost every way possible. The less than meaningful UFC vs. Strikeforce rivalry was nevertheless fun to hang onto. The San Jose crowd maybe booed a bit much, but still showed up to watch. The FOX production of UFC events continues to elevate the entire affair.
And yet, there was also enough to dislike. It would certainly be nice if a Benson Henderson bout didn't end in controversy. It'd also be swell if the California State Athletic Commission didn't think it was a swell idea for a Cesar Gracie affiliate instructor to judge a bout where a Cesar Gracie-affiliated fighter is competing.
It's time to separate the winners from the losers, the best from the worst, and the signal from the noise...

Jon Jones targets superfights after breaking Tito Ortiz's title-defense record
Provided he gets past Chael Sonnen (27-12-1 MMA, 6-5 UFC) this Saturday at UFC 159, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (17-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) plans to fight again in November.
And if successful in defending his belt this fall, Jones told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) he'll shift focus to competing in superfights and the heavyweight division.
