Melvin Guillard Fined and Suspended by Kansas Commission for Banned Non-PED
(mmaweekly.com)
Bellator fighter Melvin Guillard was suspended by the Kansas Athletic Commission on Friday for a positive drug test result for an unidentified non-performance-enhancing substance. The KAC suspended Guillard for one year and fined him $10,000. It also overturned his Bellator 159 win over David Rickels, changing it to a “no contest.” He originally knocked Rickels out a little over two minutes into their fight on July 22 in Mulvane, Kan. The KAC learned of the results Aug. 3, and Guillard’s suspension will be applied retroactively to July 22. All fighters licensed by the KAC are subject to random drug testing and must follow the world anti-doping (WADA) code.

Rizin announces both mother, son competing on Sept. 25 show
(mmafighting.com)
In what looks to be a first-time ever occurrence in a major MMA promotion, both a mother and her son will be competing on the same stage next month. Rizin announced on Monday that Miyu Yamamoto, 41, a three-time world champion in women's freestyle wrestling, would make her MMA debut on their Sept. 25 show at the Saitama Super Arena. Her son, Asen Yamamoto (0-1), 19, will face Kizaemon Saiga, on the same show. Yamamoto lost his pro debut on New Year's Eve's Rizin show to Kron Gracie, the son of Rickson Gracie. Asen Yamamoto was an age group wold champion at 17 under the name Asen Sasaki. Both are members of Japan's "royal family" of wrestling, with patriarch Ikuei Yamamoto, who competed for Japan in the 1972 Olympics. Miyu Yamamoto was well known in Japan in the 90s because of her looks and being the daughter of the former Olympian, particularly after capturing a world championship at the age of 17 in 1991. In 1994, she did a freestyle wrestling match at the biggest women's pro wrestling event in history at the Tokyo Dome before 32,500 fans. She later won world championships in 1994 and 1995.

GSP wants to fight new UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley
(bloodyelbow.com)
Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre expressed his interest in fighting new welterweight champ Tyron Woodley. There's a new UFC welterweight champion in town. Tyron Woodley planted Robbie Lawler with his vaunted right hand and knocked him out in the 1st round of the UFC 201 main event. After winning the title, Woodley wasted no time calling out both Nick Diaz (whose 18 month suspension is over today) and Georges St-Pierre, deeming them both to be "money fights." While we don't know how Diaz feels about the prospects of the champion wanting to fight him, GSP is evidently interested in taking on Woodley, as reported by MMAFighting.com. GSP was asked via text if he was interested and wanted the fight with Woodley, and he replied "yes" both times.
